Grand Theft Auto Online Creator This Week, Story DLC In 2014

by Mike Futter on Dec 09, 2013 at 01:53 PM

Rockstar has announced that this week will see the release of the deathmatch and race creator beta for Grand Theft Auto Online. In addition to gunfights and street races, players will be able to create jet dogfights with the new tools.

Job creation will be available for the following modes:

  • Deathmatch
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Race
  • GTA Race
  • Rally Race

Rockstar will be taking a look at your creations. The best of them will be marked as “Rockstar Verified Jobs” and pushed out to the entire player base. The creation tools will be available as early as tomorrow, December 10.

Later in December, Rockstar will be introducing a new team mode. Capture is a game type for up to four teams that will see players conducting incursions into enemy territory to steal something (vehicles or pickups). Rockstar will be sharing more information about Capture’s four different modes closer to release.

Finally, Rockstar will continue to update Grand Theft Auto Online into 2014. Online heists are coming, and the developer has plans for more story content featuring Michael, Trevor, and Franklin.

Our Take
Now that the kinks are largely ironed out of Grand Theft Auto Online, Rockstar can turn its attention to ramping up the content and keeping people engaged. As long as players remember that the vision of GTA Online is a long-term one (and Rockstar continues to deliver content), the community will continue to flourish.
