Sega Working On More Stereoscopic 3D Updates To Classic Games

by Kyle Hilliard on Dec 01, 2013 at 09:04 AM

Stereoscopic 3D versions of classic Sega titles Super Hang-On and Space Harrier released recently for the 3DS, and depending on their success, more could be on the way.

More confirmed titles are already on the way for North America and will be releasing this month including Altered Beast, Ecco the Dolphin, Galaxy Force, Shinobi, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Streets of Rage. Sega producer Yosuke Okunari confirmed in a tweet that even more are already in development for Japan.

If the planned North America releases are successful, the additional titles that Okunari is currently working on could make their way here if his tweet in any indication.

Our Take
It's a cool idea, seeing these titles upgraded for 3D, but I'm curious if players are excited about them. I excitedly downloaded Nintendo's 3D upgrade for Excitebike early in the 3DS' lifespan, but ultimately didn't play the game much. Are you excited to replay these games (or play them for the first time) with the 3D additions?
