December’s Games With Gold Brings Original Gears Of War, Shoot Many Robots
December 1 is on Sunday, and that means a new Xbox Live Games with Gold title is coming online. It also means that you only have a few days left to get Double Fine’s Iron Brigade.
From December 1 through 15, Xbox Live Gold members can download Epic Games’ original Gears of War. The title is a classic, and if you have a chance to watch Cliff Bleszinski’s E-day video, it should bring back some memories.
The second half of the month brings Demiurge’s Shoot Many Robots. This side scrolling good ol’ boy adventure is full of loot and amusing costumes. You can take on the robotic menace alone or with up to three friends.
The Games with Gold program will be coming to Xbox One some time in 2014. So if you're not in a rush to pick up all of the launch titles, you'll probably see them hit the service in a few months.

I have to believe that Microsoft isn’t really trying to compete with Sony’s PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection. While Sony delivers at least one title per week (most of which are fairly recent and of high quality), Microsoft is just checking the “free games for subscribers” box.
