The lights are on
When I upgraded from PlayStation 2 and Xbox to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, I had big plans. I had one game in my backlog, and I was certain I’d finish it. I never went back to it at all.
While I’d still love to return to Radiata Stories at some point, over the past eight years I’ve built up quite the library of games. My “stack of shame” is aptly named, and I still want to finish the key titles sitting on my shelf. I need to be realistic, though. Some of them won’t get the love they deserve.
How about you? Will you make your way through your Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 backlogs before the new hardware steals all your attention? Will you leave some of those fantastic games sitting on your shelf behind as you march boldly ahead? Let us know in the comments.
I know there are some people who can never look back once next gen hits, but that definitely isn't me. I can go directly from playing the latest and greatest (like PS4 at the moment) down to things as ancient as original Gameboy games and anywhere in between. If I want to play a game, I don't care about the system or graphics. For example three games I'm currently enjoying are Assassin's Creed IV on PS4, The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds on 3DS and the original Wario Land on Game Boy. I think it's dumb to limit what you might enjoy because of how it looks.
I usually have a "no-game-left-behind" policy, but this time around I still have quite a backlog. I'll keep my other systems plugged in and switch out HDMI ports for the foreseeable future, so if the winter is cold I'll have PLENTY to do.
I don't know...I'm so tempted to get a PS4 for Christmas but I know for fact I won't be going back anytime soon...might have to chill on it for a while.
I'm sticking with the ps3/360 for a long time. And as games get cheaper, I have less of a reason to upgrade.
I will probably return to the games that I do not finish on PS3 because they will not be available on the PS4 or if they are available, I would have to pay for them again.
I plan on going back to the beginning and playing through every game that scored well but that I didn't get to play, though I'll probably skip some. I plan on buying the ps4 bundled with the new uncharted, which won't come out for a while, so I have a lot of time.
I have a few games I'd like to finish like Bioshock Infinite.
I still have games on backlog from my PS2. I still don't know how Up Your Arsenal ended.
Ugh, I'm still trying to catch up on PS2 games, so there will probably be stuff left behind whenever I do eventually pick up a PS4.
Most of my "last gen" titles are on PC and currently installed. I am going through them slowly. With a lack of games for both consoles coming in the next few months, I should be able to knock a few games off of my list, provided I can stop playing the new Zelda game on 3DS and stop with the BF4 multiplayer.
I'll probably dig through my backlog for quite a while before I make the next gen jump (besides my Wii U and 3DS, of course).
The only game I really want to play would be the last of us, other than that I am moving on to next gen with no regrets.
There are too many pieces of DLC, full-length games, and games I've yet to even buy that I want to play from last-gen. I just have to accept the fact that, as a busy and broke college student, that I won't ever finish it all.
Pokemon X, Diablo III, Dragon Age II, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix, Kingdoms of Amalur, Tales of Xillia, Blue Dragon, Skyrim, New Vegas, Tales of Vesperia and InFamous. I'm not upgrading anytime soon until probably 2 years down the road or after I finish my backlogs.
Theres still games cpmin out for PS3 that I wanna get Grand Turismo, FFX, XII, for example. Plusmsonpme games I didnt finish yet or like to try. Ive keepin my PS3 and will continue to enjoy it.
My backlog is part of the reason I haven't gone next-gen yet. Also, after this weekend's announcements from Atlus, it looks like I'm going to keep my PS3 for a LONG while. So I plan on playing my PS3 until Sony stops supporting it or a game comes out on the PS4 only that is a must buy for me.
