PlayStation 4 Hits One Million Sold In 24 Hours

by Kyle Hilliard on Nov 17, 2013 at 04:35 AM

The PlayStation 4 is off to a strong start with Sony reporting that one million systems have already been sold within the first 24 hours of the console's availability.

These numbers mark only the North American sales numbers for the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 won't be available in most of the rest of the world until late November and next month, and not in Japan until February.

Our Take
PlayStation 4 is doing well out of the gate with good numbers. The press release announcing the impressive sales also uses the word "sold" as opposed to the word "shipped," which appears every now and then in similar press releases, and isn't nearly as impressive. The Xbox One already has some catching-up to do on Friday.
