Weekend Warrior 11/27/13

by Ben Reeves on Nov 15, 2013 at 01:00 PM

Unsurprisingly, a lot of us will be playing with our shiny new PS4's this weekend, but a few of us might dabble in something else.

Ben Hanson: I'm picking up my PlayStation 4 today. Even though they've been in the office for a while, I still haven't sat down for a full play session with one of those things. I'm looking forward to playing Knack tonight and downloading all of the free games on PSN. Don't forget to try out Blacklight, Warframe, and DCUO! I'll also keep playing Link Between Worlds, but there are so many other games to dabble with this weekend!

Dan Ryckert: I plan on hooking up my PlayStation 4 and praying that my apartment’s crappy internet connection actually works for this generation of consoles. If it does work out, I plan on streaming Battlefield 4, Resogun, and Super Motherload on Twitch. No matter what, I’ll probably spend a lot of time drinking beers at bars and watching pro wrestling at home.

Katie Seville: As usual, I’ll be playing a lot of Pokémon Y and possibly some Bioshock Infinite. I downloaded Beyond Good and Evil HD for my 360 last weekend, so I plan to play more of that. I played the GameCube version many years ago, and I’m having a great time reliving the experience. I might also play some Banjo Tooie on XBLA. I started it again after seeing it at Extra Life, and it’s been pretty hilarious reliving that as well.

Joe Juba: I have a PS4, but I may not spend much time playing it this weekend. My 3DS may be getting more action; I'm in the middle of Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, and I also have The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds waiting for me. As if that weren't enough, I'm a few hours into Ni No Kuni, and I'm excited to spend some more time with that one, too.

Jeff Marchiafava: I didn’t pre-order a PS4 in the five minutes they were available after E3, so this weekend I’ll continue playing current-gen candidates for our Games of the Year list. I’ve been enjoying Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time so far, and plan on starting up Ni No Kuni as well. Throw in a couple of indie PC games and I won’t even miss not having a PS4 (or so I’ll keep telling myself).

Kyle Hilliard: I don’t think any new video games came out this week, so I'll probably just watch some Seinfeld re-runs or something.

Bryan Vore: After hopefully getting my damn profile to work on my PlayStation 4 I plan on digging into Killzone: Shadow Fall. There will also be lots of Tiny Death Star during absolutely any lull in my day.

Jason Oestreicher: I'm holding off on jumping into the next generation of gaming until next week with the Xbox One. Until then, I'll be staying the course and playing some Street Fighter 4 and Injustice with friends. If any of these friends win too much, I'll be creating them in XCOM: Enemy Within and will order them to go toe-to-toe with an alien Mechtoid.
