The lights are on
We really can’t explain this one. Since the dawn of the CD era, jewel cases have always been the same. The insert goes on the left. The disc goes on the right. Not anymore.
For some reason, at least one Xbox One case has switched things around. When you open the case, the disc is on the left.
Reader Ken McKown sent us this picture as proof, and we've seen others just like for different titles, like Call of Duty: Ghosts. What do you think? Is this an insignificant change that you can roll with, or does this throw your entire world view into upheaval?
Our TakeInserts are far less important than they used to be. The printed video game manual is all but extinct. Perhaps moving the disc to the other side is a way to subtly communicate the importance of the media. Or maybe it’s just change for the sake of change.
Dont care which side its on as long as the game is inside the case. literally isnt gonna spell the end of anything or the doom of the X1.
Oooooh so edgy!
Sooo slow news day GI? Lol
It's not a big deal, they are just aiming for being different I imagine.
wait a minute did they do this on purpose or was it a mistake??
After I've seen the disc on the wrong side, I was like "XD".
That is weird.
Wow. Why?
I like how all the fannies out there are trying to belittle anyone who get bothered by this. If PlayStation did it you'd be acting like they are the dumbest company in the world.
On that note, this looks stupid. Why change something that has been standard for decades? Is this their attempt at trying to be different?
The answer is quite simple. Its because MS is just so cool and edgy.Thats why
so next-gen
I don't really care either way.
The position of the game in the box may be the least important thing to me about the Xbox One at this point. That being said I do like the design of the new boxes themselves, pretty slick.
Well, it sure is DIFFERENT!! Completely inconsequential but, Hey! Different!!
Anyone who ever purchased an old 2-cd package in the day knows the issue here; the device holding the disc on the left always gets weaker and stops holding the disc in place. This can result in the disc getting lose while in the case and getting scratched.
Absolute Joy Kill, canceled my X1 preorder because of this!!!
Actually, in Israel, this is how media is arranged. I was surprised, too.
Of course it's not a big deal, but I really am curious as to why they decided to do this. Differentiate themselves? Maybe it had to do with their previous digital plans?
Too bad we'll probably never get an official answer.
WHAT!?? IM FURIOUS ABOUT THIS.
