The lights are on
PlayStation fans, your day is finally here. Now that consoles have started becoming available at retail, we want to know how you’re faring with your purchase.
Let us know if your update was smooth, which games you’re playing first, and what you think of the user interface. Did you try streaming? Have you captured your first video? Have you played AR Hockey (which everyone should play just once for the celebration at the end).
Let us know in the comments. For more PlayStation launch coverage, be sure to check out our hub.
Well seeing some comments here it seems the hyper of the ps4 was short lived with a lot of ppl lucky I'm waiting a good 3 and more years.
Remote play kicks ass. It's working flawlessly for me, even on the other floor and other side of the house.
I'm glad I installed via USB drive, wouldn't have wanted to jump into Sony's servers to get that installed on launch day. It's been awesome, Killzone: SF is a good shooter so far and can't wait to play AC4.
This is only the beginning. That's is all.
I'll be getting one for sure, but I'm holding off until there's enough software that I want to justify the purchase. Of course I'm a huge hypocrite because I'm a proud Wii U owner :P
Last update from me. Download times are taking awhile as would be expected on day one release. Everyone trying to get ahold of the free games just like I am. After I updated Assassin's creed I am now able to access multiplayer. So far everything has gone fairly smooth and I'm enjoying it. Well worth the purchase.
I just wish I could download my old PSN games from my PS3. I do like the new home screen though..
Waiting till March when Infamous: Second Son comes out (I'm a PC gamer so already have "next-gen" versions of most everything else) the few people I know who got one last night seem to think its cool though.
I was fortunete to get one on Wednesday (I was a Taco bell winner). I really like it so far, but it took a little time to set up becasue I had to download the 1.5 patch onto a flash drive, and update it manually. I really like the controller, and the game Knack. The UI is alos cleaner and way faster. Plus, I'm really digging the sleep mode.
I'd love one, but until there is a great RPG out for it, I don't need it. When DAI, Elder Scrolls VI, or Fallout 4 is announced, then yes. Maybe even for a new dragon's dogma
So far very few issues. I am downloading the updates for madden now as well as the fun free to play games. Had a network error at first but rebooted the machine about 3 times and it was a non issue. mad props to my wife for getting me the system 2 games and a controller for $10 less than the cost of the system!
A lot of network issues. The system doesn't operate as fast as I expected or has been demonstrated. The UI is greatly improved. Switching apps on the fly is smooth. Haven't been able to connect to the internet so far so the jury is out on that. Overall it is as you would expect it to be at launch. No major problems and I'm satisfied.
only issue i have is attaching my PSN account to my facebook count. That, however, could be an issue on facebooks sides as well as sonys.
Took a little while to sign in this morning, but now that's out of the way and I have begun to poke around a bit. I am very happy with this new console so far. It wasn't until I had it here in person that I could really see how nice the new design is. I like the clean menus as well. The new controller feels like the improvement it was hyped to be. The only real complaint I have is the lack of a system seller game at launch. Nothing out right now is really catching my eye. I bought Battlefield, and have played around with Resogun a bit. I am DLing contrast and DC online. Until we have Infamous next year I'm not sure how much I will be using the new system. Not a big complaint, I know big new exciting games are coming, so overall, I am very pleased.
Took a few tries to get the update to download. But signing in was easy and I love how fast the games download and install. The store is also 10x as fast on Ps4.

I like it's new UI. it's very calm and blue. :p i don't know if you can change the color or theme like in the ps3, but thats only because i haven't really looked around the UI. I'm still having trouble signing into my PSN account. But other than that, so far, I'm loving it.
