The lights are on
Digital distribution is going to continue becoming more prevalent as we enter the next generation, along with increasingly large file sizes. The PS4 will allow players to dive into the action before a game is completely downloaded, and we saw a feature today that shows a further refinement on the idea.
During a UI demo, we saw what happens when you purchase Call of Duty: Ghosts. After going through the payment process, players are then asked whether they want to jump into the game's campaign or multiplayer. Depending on what you pick, the console will begin downloading the appropriate data. Ultimately, you'll get the entire game, but this intermediate step looks like it should get you into the part of the game you want to play faster.

That's good news.
Very cool feature. considering the file sizes of next gen games this sounds as though it will end up in the "how did we get by without it" category.
SOB I cannot wait to get my console!!!!
Rock on, Sony! Very cool feature
That's a tremendous feature, I know I'm not the only one who hate's some of the loading & install times
This is the same way PC players got to download the game on Steam. Nice to see the consoles going the same route. Saves a lot of space and time for some people. Depending on what they want to start out playing at the time of purchase.
Well, I pretty much only play single player anyway, but this is pretty useful.
That's a cool feature but I won't be buying anything digital anytime soon. Being that you can trade in old games, phones and even movies for credit at Gamestop why would anyone pay full price for a digital download? I can see some instances where you actually want the digital version but to me that would be few and far between.
Freakin awesome.
stoked
I just have this dreaded feeling that in a few years, games are going to split into two (SP and MP) versions each costing a whole games worth. I have been wondering about GTA: Online and it came out a little too late with an MMO concept. But what if GTAO is porter over to the PS4 sooner than a release of the campaign? Most MMO's have a plan of being online for more than 3 years, if Rockstar is putting so much emphasis on the MP portion of it and almost treating it like a different game, it wouldn't be so far fetched that this portion will become its own entity.
Friday get here already!!!!!
Oooh Nice!! no more Mutliplayers for me then!! XD
