PlayStation 4 Will Not Have A Dedicated Facebook App
Polygon is reporting that Facebook is working on strengthening its browser experience on PlayStation 4 rather than creating a Facebook app as it has done in the past.
Facebook engineer Colin Creitz told Polygon that the app had required too much maintenance and didn't provide a good enough user experience in return. Browsers, he said, are the solution to this problem.
"In this generation of consoles, all of them have very capable browsers," said Creitz. "The PS4's browser ... it's actually pretty pleasant."
Creitz also said that PS4 users will be able to use Facebook to share their videos and to display their real names on PlayStation Network.
