Watch Twelve Minutes Of The Xbox One Dashboard

by Mike Futter on Nov 08, 2013 at 01:57 AM

Earlier this morning, we posted our impressions of the Xbox One dashboard along with six interesting details about how the user interface will work when you bring the console home. Microsoft has released its own footage to show off the dashboard.

In the video, you'll be able to see fast app switching, the One Guide (used for television and video apps), how the Kinect recognizes and reacts to multiple users, and more. There is also a demonstration of how Skype makes use of the Kinect. The panning and zooming that follows you around the room is handled by software rather than motors. That means the new Kinect won't "nod" at you during gameplay or Skype conversations.

You'll also get a look at how game clips are saved and uploaded with the Upload Studio. Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments.

Our Take
From my experience with the user interface demo, all of the features displayed in this video are representative of the actual experience. The kit my demo was on wasn't running the final dashboard, and it was already smooth and quick.
