Trademark Reveals Transformers: Age Of Extinction Game Trademark
It looks like there is another Transformers game coming. Hasbro has filed a trademark for Transformers: Age of Extinction that covers “interactive entertainment software, namely computer game software, computer game programs, computer game cartridges, computer game discs…”
Age of Extinction is the subtitle of Michael Bay’s fourth Transformers film, and the previous titles that have spun off from films haven’t been particularly good (until the most recent one). The trademark filing doesn’t list a publisher or developer (and it normally wouldn’t), but Activision continues to hold the Transformers license.
High Moon Studios, which was the developer behind War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron (both significantly better than the movie titles) handled Dark of the Moon (the third game in the film trilogy). We’ve reached out to Activision for comment.

Our Take
I’ve enjoyed High Moon Studios’ work. While the Bay movies are big, dumb fun (if you can put your Transformers G1 fandom aside), they don’t offer much good fodder for games. I hope that this next title rivals War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, but that might just be wishful thinking.
