Killzone: Shadow Fall High Bitrate Footage Is Stunning

by Mike Futter on Nov 05, 2013 at 02:17 AM

In an effort to combat one of the biggest problems in showcasing next-gen games, Sony and Guerrilla Games have released a minimally compressed clip of Killzone: Shadow Fall in action. The video is large and requires a video player with hardware acceleration, so get ready for a beefy download.

The 570 MB download represents just over a minute of footage. You’ll need Windows Media Player for PC or Quicktime for Mac in order to get the full impact.

The video was captured during a multiplayer match in “The Park” map. Killzone: Shadow Fall will be running at native 1080p at an unlocked frame rate (with 60fps as the target). You can read a bit more and download the video here. Killzone: Shadow Fall will be released alongside the PlayStation 4 on November 15. You can see more Killzone in our interview with the team from Gamescom 2013.

Our Take
This video was released yesterday, but given the demand on Sony’s servers, it took me a while to actually see it for myself. There’s no doubt that Killzone: Shadow Fall looks stunning. I just hope that yesterday’s server congestion isn’t foreshadowing for the November 15 release.
