Wii Mini Coming To The U.S.
Gamers in the U.S. will finally be able to get their hands on the Wii Mini starting this month, after the reconfigured system's initial release in Canada a year ago.
Nintendo says the system – retailing for $99 and coming with Mario Kart and red Wii Motion Plus and nunchuk controllers – will hit stores starting sometime in mid-November.
Last month a report stated Nintendo would be ceasing production of the Wii, leading GI editor Matt Helgeson to presciently comment that the Wii Mini might be released here.
Our Take:
Although the Wii Mini lacks online and GameCube backwards compatibility, this version of the system should do quite well. I wonder if there will be any consumer confusion this holiday season between the Mini and the Wii U, and which one will sell more...
