The lights are on
Tomorrow, the Game Informer editors and interns will be participating in Extra Life, an annual gaming marathon that raises money for children's hospitals. Check out Channel 5 News' interview with Ben Reeves and Tim Turi to learn more, and be sure to tune in to our livestream. You can take join the GI Extra Life team here. Some of us are also trying to squeeze some other activities in this weekend.
Jeff Marchiafava: The rush to play every great game before the end of the year has begun, and I’ve got a long way to the finish line. This weekend I’ll be finishing up Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, then diving into Blood Dragon. I also plan to put a little time into the new Sly Cooper, and hopefully try out a little more GTA Online. At least I’ll have plenty of leftover Halloween candy to keep me up all night!
Mike Futter: This Saturday is Extra Life, which means 25 hours of pure gaming. I’ll be returning to Gotham City to continue my hunt for Black Mask. I also intend on firing up my new laptop and playing some PC games. I’ve been itching for some strategy, which means I expect to play some Civilization V, Might and Magic Heroes VI, and maybe some Dawn of War II. Any other suggestions for PC strategy games? Send them my way!
Ben Hanson: This weekend I'm hoping to finish off Beyond. I've been watching my girlfriend play through it and we only have a couple of hours left. I've never finished a Quantic Dream game and, despite incredibly clumsy gameplay design, I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying Beyond: Two Souls. Other than that, I'm going to start playing Batman: Arkham Origins on my PS3. I've been very curious about how that game turned out, it was an interesting cover story trip and I enjoyed getting to know the new team up in Montreal. Have a good weekend!
Mike Trinh: This weekend, I will spend some time (not sure how much) at the Game Informer Extra Life Marathon. I’ll also play as much Pokemon as possible, but it might be hard to find time for that this week.
Isaac Perry: This weekend I'll be joining the editors and interns in the Extra Life marathon. If I'm not sick of playing video games (who am I kidding), I will continue Gone Home. I know it's not necessarily a scary game, but I'm terrified when I play it...
Katie Seville: I'll be helping out (and by helping out I mean playing video games) the other interns and the GI editors in the Extra Life gaming marathon tomorrow. I'm looking forward to playing some multiplayer games generally having a blast. Every second not spent holding a controller will be spent holding my 3DS, so I can play more Pokémon. I also downloaded Telltale's The Walking Dead, so I'll start that on Sunday if I have time.
Kyle Hilliard: I'll be stopping by the marathon at some point to say "Hello", but otherwise I will be Batman-ing and Assassin's Creed-ing. I got big plans basically.
Tim Turi: This is the weekend of the Extra Life 2013 marathon. That means we’ll be playing games nonstop from 9am central on Saturday to 9am central on Sunday. I plan to play some GTA Online, Batman: Arkham Origins, and finally get my hands on Banjo Tooie. I may also crack into Dead Space 3 and Beyond: Two Souls co-op with some friends at some point. There will be many, many games played.

Arkham Origins, Pokemon Y, and backlog games...Tim, I will warn you right now. I rocked through Banjo Tooie all summer and loved every minute of that game until I got to a section of the game towards the end involving a bird race. I say good luck to you on that part because I so far have found it literally impossible to beat.
Literally just finished the original Gears of War like 5 minuets ago, so my only gaming plans is playing my brothers Saint Row 4, Pokémon X, and waiting impatiently for Cod: Ghost to come out.
Hey Mike: indulge in Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness. Remember the glory that came before WoW, and amuse yourself with repeated clicking on the soldiers as they increasingly become annoyed with you!
Me, I'm still addicted to Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom. I know it's just a visual novel, but I'm so totally in love with the characters and stories, it's not even funny. Aside from that, I'm checking out Siren and continuing my playthrough of Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. Which, by the way, would be totally awesome as a Replay game. *hint hint nudge nudge*
I got a ton to read for university but it wont stop me from playing Demon's Souls and Borderlands co-op. Hopefully I can find some time to squeeze either DmC or Beyond in.
Still plugging away at Darksiders II. However, I'm also having visions of Ratchet & Clank HD dancing in my head. As much as I love the series, and I have played through almost every game at least twice each, I never finished the first one. Got about 90% through, and just kind of stopped. Must remedy that. Must foil Chairman Drek's plans.
I have no clue what I'm going to play. I have a ton of games in my backlog though.
I'll be playing some GTA O and hopefully finishing my last playthrough/achievement for XCOM.
Something old and something new. Mass Effect 1, Forza 4, and Battlefield 4 MP. Can't believe November is finally here. PS4 and XB1 right around the corner!! I'll have the best of both worlds by the end if the month:)
Sadly, I don't have any new games to play at the moment (for the sole reason that I don't have the money), but I may start replaying Lego: LOTR, as that's always fun.
I'm going to finish Batman Arkham Origins this weekend and also play some more Ace Attorney Dual Destinies.
This weekend I've been sucked into the overwhelmingly heart-warming rainbow that is Studio Ghibli. I'll most likely be playing Ni No Kuni all weekend and hopefully loving every second of it from the first few hours I've played of the game. I'll be very interested to see how my thoughts on it fair, as I recall Kim Wallace's review. I'll also be balancing my time between writing for Kayla Herrera'a N00b magazine and plowing my way through the remainder of Bioshock: Infinite, yet another game I have mixed feelings for at this point. Most of all, I'll be trying to get some major sleep after too many nights with Elizabeth. No, that didn't sound right. . . have a great weekend everyone!
I'll be starting tomorrow with some ME3 multiplayer with my dad, and for the rest of the weekend I guess I'll be getting through some of my Vita games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush. I'll also work on homework and a term paper.
I caved earlier this week and picked up AC4 for 360 even though I preordered it for PS4. So far it is a lot of fun and a great pirate game. I also may play some Dark Souls or GTA online. Only 2 weeks left until PS4 comes out!
I have been reaping my rewards as a PSN+ member with the Sale of the Dead event. I managed to pick up this old but fun isomatric survival horror/action game called Alien Breed. Its a trilogy and the whole bundle is available. Besides that I will eventually put my full focus on the new Arkham game and then eventually work my wits towards the GTA 5 SP.
I am also waiting for the November to hit to see the user reviews for the next gen consoles (namely PS4) and also the instant game collection for my free copy of Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen and Binary Domain. I am also waiting for the PSN to give out a discount for Deus Ex: Hr directors cut so I can experience the improvements (aka PC settings and contents) in visuals and boss battles.
Starting my Assassin's Creed marathon with the first game after finishing up Dishonored.
still doing some mass breeding and chain-hook's to find luck in finding some shiny-pokemon. but still..*sigh*
I'll be streaming with Game Informer this weekend :D
