The lights are on
As part of its enormous PlayStation 4 FAQ, Sony has revealed more about how the PlayStation Vita remote streaming feature works. As expected, you’re going to want to be as close as possible for optimal performance.
“We strongly recommend that Remote Play be used within the same Wi-Fi network where PS4 is connected,” the FAQ states. “Remote Play may or may not work over a wide area network. For Remote Play to function over a wide area network, a robust and stable Wi-Fi connection and broadband Internet connection is required, and the local area network where PS4 is connected must be configured to permit the PS Vita system to access PS4.”
Sony isn’t saying that it’s impossible to have a good experience outside the home, but it probably won’t be as simple as this “Day with PlayStation” video makes it seem (check the 1:25 minute mark).

Our TakeCommon sense dictates that you need to have a strong Wi-Fi connection for both the Vita and the PlayStation 4, but I think many people expected it to work as seamlessly and fluidly as it does in the video above. I would be content for stable connection in my house so I can continue playing in bed or on the other side of the house. I currently can’t do that with my Vita and PS3, nor can I do it with my Wii U.

i would of just used it around my house anyway like in the bathroom or when the tv is busy.
Just like the current remote play.
While the Vita is enticing, I'd like the Vita TV for my other rooms screen to stream PS 1, 2, 3, and 4 games, movies, ect. (Note: I know the PS1,2,3 streaming is not available yet, but it is coming)
You know what I'd like to see and this is from every console company, in your market, i would want a global tab where you could download any game from any country that's on their respective market. Sure warn us that there isn't an English option. Some of the best games I've played never came out in the states and I hunted down through online retailers like Bleach Soul Carnival, DJ Max (which did have an english option), Shonen Jump Allstars.
It's a cool feature, regardless of its limitations.
unless there will be a PS4/Vita combo, then most people wont care. I doubt 10% of PS4 owners will even have a Vita. Will be a cool function if it works correctly, and doesnt rely on blazing fast internet connection. Technically speaking, this function shouldnt even really need an internet connection. just a WIFI connection.
Best thing I've seen that relates to this is that you can play DCUO which also requires an internet connection. Hopefully this means I will also beable to play online for other games while using remote play.
