The lights are on
N7 day – a day to celebrate the universe of Mass Effect – comes around every year on November 7, which is just a week away.
Last year marked the first official N7 day, which you can find out more about by heading here. This year BioWare has a number of festivities lined up to celebrate the journey of Commander Shepard.
BioWare is asking fans to post Mass Effect pictures online with the hashtag #N7Day13, and the developers will be online playing Mass Effect 3 all day. There will also be a fan art contest (which BioWare will reveal more details about soon), and hold a Child's Play Charity auction where concept art pre-dating the original Mass Effect will be up for sale. BioWare will also have all kinds of pictures and assorted retrospectives about the Mass Effect trilogy posting online and will have a sale on Mass Effect merch on its online store.
N7 day is Thursday November 7, so you've got a week to refresh your online Mass Effect 3 skills.
Our TakeMass Effect may not be celebrating a new release this year, but it's certainly a series worth celebrating. Last year, we crowned Mass Effect 3 our game of the year. I am especially curious to see some of the old concept art.

Everyone get their geth juggernaut... Seriously, there are lots of other character classes you can choose from in multiplayer.
i am so excited for the new mass effect. That is easily my favorite game series.
Had some amazing experiences that I will never forget but after ME3 I'm ready to put this series to rest. Too many other amazing games that need my attention to go back. Hope the series continues to do well.
Mass Effect 3 is great and all but the one thing I cannot stand about it is the sluggishness of movement, particular when using the cover system. Gears of War 2-3 absolutely nailed the cover and movement mechanic perfectly but ME3 is rather lacking in those department.
Granted, it's not terrible and I still really enjoy ME3 online, but playing GoW3 and then ME3 really highlights how much better it could have been.
I've been neglecting Mass Effect 3's multiplayer for a while sadly, which is a shame since it's hands down one of my favorite multiplayer implementations ever. Now it looks like I'll have a solid excuse to dust off the ol' N7 Slayer and chop me up some Reapers.
Hopefully BioWare will have some new info primed on the next Mass Effect game, even if it's just a tease. But even if they don't, it'll still be a fun little day devoted to one of my all-time favorite game series'.
Kind of lame actually.
As long as DLC is on sale, that would make N7 Day great.
I am prepared.
I played ME3 online from launch for a year & 1 month. It was a lot of fun, but I'd maxed out most everything I wanted to max out, & got my Best of the Best banner, so there wasn't much left to do. Plus the servers seemed to be getting worse than they already were.
So.... I wonder what the chances are of a surprise ME announcement?
Big ups for my boy Garrus Vakarian! Never thought I'd care about an alien as much as ma boy Garrus!
Love Mass Effect!!!
