The lights are on
We’ve already heard about Ryse: Son of Rome’s story of revenge, but it looks like now we’ll get a more cinematic taste soon. The four-part live-action series The Fall begins November 5 on Machinima, leading up to the game’s release on Xbox One November 22.
Crytek and Microsoft Studios, the developer and publisher respectively, are premiering this bloody series. Like the Xbox One exclusive action game, The Fall is told through the eyes of Marius Titus. The game’s story follows Titus’s quest for revenge. The live-action series might show us what sets him down this bloody path. If you want to see some actual gameplay, you can check out the E3 trailer.
Our TakeI have always enjoyed watching well-crafted trailers for games (whether or not the games are good), and I can’t help but get interested in The Fall. A live-action miniseries does little to tell us about the game – outside the story. That said, the game’s story could be decent enough to show off. Ryse: Son of Rome will be set in the final days of Rome, which sounds awesome.
Sounds pretty cool. Reminds me of Forward Unto Dawn, which I thought was fantastic!
Played this at the Area One Xbox event in Atlanta. Was much better than I expected. I will be buying it day one, and will tune into this miniseries.
This is amazing quality. Whoever shot and directed it, kudos to what we see here. This little bit looks ten times better than all of the MK: Legends series.
The key word here used by the author is, "sounds". Tons of games have sounded awesome only to be huge failures. Yeah sorry, I'm pretty jaded nowadays on what we consumers are supposedly seeing versus what we really get. This game looks real pretty graphically. It's right up my alley for setting but is it basically just a swipe and fight game with the Kinect or much, much more? I'm getting a PS4 but someday may get the BONE also for unique new IP's like this if there is actually any substance to them other than just being Mortal Kombat in Roman clothing. I've watched some of the gameplay videos but havn't seen anything showing depth beyond just fighting. If that's all it offers, then I can easily pass on it since we've already gone there so many times in the past. Next Gen IP's need to be much deeper than just fighting if I'm to be convinced to go out and buy an additional system to play them. Titianfall is in this same boat for me. If it's simple MP only I can pass but if it's more, it could be a system seller to me.
