The lights are on
NBA 2K14 has run a simulation of the 2013-14 basketball season and playoffs, a first in series history. The game predicts that the Miami Heat will have the best record in the league at 66-16. The Brooklyn Nets (62-20), Chicago Bulls (59-19), San Antonio Spurs (51-31), and Golden State Warriors (49-33) round out the top five teams. The defending champion Heat once again plays in the finals against the San Antonio Spurs. History repeats itself as LeBron James leads Miami to its third championship in as many years.
NBA 2K14 has already released for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. It will arrive on PlayStation 4 on November 15 and Xbox One on November 22. Tip-off begins at 9 pm Central today with Miami playing Chicago.
Our Take:The Heat wins? What a complete shocker... Simulations are fun to look at and by the end of the season, we'll see how close 2K Sports got with its first predictions for a season. I can only hope that the Spurs, Nets, or Bulls dethrones "King" James this year. If I wish really hard, maybe the Boston Celtics will make it to the playoffs too!

Will the Heat likely win another championship? Probably, yes. They're far too stacked and comfortable at the top to bet on any other team to beat them this year. I don't think the Nets are going to be the second best team in the league this year. More like fourth or fifth, because Pierce and Garnett are old. Age doesn't matter as much in video games as it does in reality. The Spurs are my choice for second (not close, because they are also quite old), with the Bulls somewhat close behind at third (D-Rose is awesome, but they need someone to back him up). The Nets need to have the proven track record of the Spurs for me to pick them to do better than the team from San Antone.
I honestly don't see the Heat winning the finals this year. Too many teams got much much better during the offseason.
The Heat will have problems with Indiana again with Granger coming back, but they'll still win the ship. Oh, and HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA for the sorry Celtics! They'll need a whole lot more than Rondo & Green if they wanna make it to the playoffs.
I can't see the Pistons having a better record than the Pacers at all. One thing I do hope that happens is the Heat vs Cavs in the playoffs though I'm having a hard time believing the Cavs will make it. They tend get injured a lot. For this season, I hope Dwayne Wade has a great season. I hate seeing him not doing his best but I think he will have good season this year. GO HEAT!!
I don't see the finals or east conference finals ending in five games. Nor do I believe the Lakers or Rockets will advance. I also expect there to be more than one sweep.
These are always fun to look at. Looks pretty good for the most part, except I can't see the Lakers making it to the playoffs let alone win a round unless they make a significant trade - the Grizzlies will have that playoff spot. Also, I can see the Nets beating the Heat in the conference Finals in 6 or 7 games and winning the title (this may or may not have to do with my significant bias as a diehard Nets fan).
pistons, cavs, and wizards in the playoffs? c'mon man
No way in hell the aging Spurs get past the Rockets.
It will be interesting to see how the simulation looks at the end of the year.
I gotta be completely honest here....I think the Nets are going to knock the Heat out barring any unforeseen injuries. As much as the Heats are stacked, the Nets are a great match-up for them. Williams, Johnson, Pierce, Garnett, and Lopez will be too much for em. I hope Im wrong, cause I really dont like the Nets at all.
