The lights are on
Earlier today, we asked you how you plan on playing cross-generation titles. Are you diving in early with Assassin's Creed IV, Battlefield 4, and Call of Duty: Ghosts? Or are you planning on waiting until November 15 or November 22 to get those games on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One?
You had some varied answers, and we'd like to highlight a few. The responses were mixed, though it seems slightly more commenters are holding off for new hardware.
I'm waiting for PS4 to play AC4 and also Lego Marvel Superheroes. I've got Batman Arkham Origins to hold me over until then. I won't be buying any more PS3 games at all except for South Park in December, which will likely be my last PS3 game ever, sadly. - Anthony D'Elia
I don't know when I'll be able to purchase a PS4, so I'll be picking up AC4 for PS3 tomorrow and will probably upgrade to the PS4 version a little later on. I can't wait that long to play it anyway. - Grimmfeather
Nope, not gonna wait for minimally better versions. Current-gen will be where it's at for at least a full-year before next-gen beats it. - Tim Gruver
I am going in on it right now for BF4 then when I get my X1 I will upgrade so I can still have my same weapons/rank and be in the thick of it right off the bat. - General Church
For me personally, I'm starting with BF4 on current gen and upgrading to next gen upon release, just because my stats and such will transfer. I know the game should look/perform better on the next gen, but the mechanics will be the same. The only reason I'm starting with this game on the current gen is because it takes so long to progress through BF's multiplayer and because I'm already burnt out on GTA5. For any other big title releasing, I think I can wait for the next gen. - Joe Whitehead
Following up on that question, we want to focus on those games that are only coming out on the new hardware. Which of those are you planning on picking up early? Are you going for a shooter with Killzone: Shadow Fall? How about zombie slaughter with Dead Rising 3? Let us know what you're planning on putting in your machine.
Knack Driveclub Resogun and Rime for PS4 and Ryse Forza 5 quantum break and HALO 5 for XBOX ONE
Son of rome for me then maybe dead rising 3
When I finally get my PS4 in 2016, I'll get inFamous: Second Son.
Mario 3D World!!!
I already preordered Shadow Fall, and I'll pick up any free PS+ games as well (I think it'll be Resogun or Contrast, or both).
I have Battlefield 4, COD Ghosts, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse preordered for my XBox One. Going to wait until I see the reviews for Ryse before purchasing though. Picking up BF4 tomorrow and doing the $10 trade up next month (holding off on COD though). Sadly I'll be selling my PS3 and all of my games with it in the next few weeks to make room but keeping my 360 for now as most of my current library are 360 games. Hoping to get a PS4 for Christmas from the girlfriend, but I'm not holding my breath. Might have to purchase one later next year.
Whatever action game Sony Santa Monica puts out.
I've got Dead Rising 3 pre-ordered, but if I had just a little more money to spare (I'm already stretching myself thin here, haha), I'd pick up Forza and Ryse; as both look like fantastic games. Dead Rising 3 looks great, and I'm hoping with the open world aspect, it can hold me over longer until I can get some more games.
