The lights are on
According to a blog post, EA is working on a new next-gen golf game that will not feature Tiger Woods, ending the company's 15 year relationship with the golf legend.
The post is on EA's site, and reads, in part:
"EA SPORTS and Tiger Woods have also made a mutual decision to end our partnership, which includes Tiger's named PGA TOUR golf game. We’ve always been big fans of Tiger and we wish him continued success in all his future endeavors.
Moving forward, we will continue to work with the PGA TOUR exclusively to create groundbreaking golfing titles and our partnership remains strong."
The company also released a screenshot of the new golf game.

Our Take:This is certainly a huge move for EA. It's also an indication of Tiger's falling stock as in the golf world and as a celebrity. EA stuck with him through his much-publicized off-the-course problems, but the fact is that he's not the dominant force on the tour that he once was – and EA obviously feels that his name doesn't sell like it once did.

It's about time.
I mean I get it, but I feel like Tiger Woods has been the actual draw to a lot of people even being interested in golf and golf games. Obviously they're not going to be getting rid of him, but his face on the cover has helped that series exponentially.
Eh, knew it was coming someday. Goodbye Eldrick.
that sucks, I still consider tiger the best golfer in the world, and by not having his face on the cover, this might decrease sales for this series.
It's too bad seeing a generation come to an end.
Obviously EA isn't dropping him thanks to his scandals a couple years back because they would've done it sooner otherwise. Still, it's just a sign of the times that Tiger's fame is pretty much on the slippery slope it's been since then. Probably inevitable with every aging celebrity, except John Madden it seems.
They should get an OJ Simpson game about us knowing he did it
So you stick with him through all the drama and B.S and then you drop him when he starts playing good again? They prob had it paid off for a while though. Changing it would have just cost extra money.
That's a shame EA.
Oh man, that picture. Good choice Mr. Helgeson.
I can't say I'm really surprised. I figured this would happen sooner. It doesn't really affect Tiger that much. He has enough money. But this is a huge move for EA.
