The lights are on
Google's Quantum A.I. Lab Team have released a mod for Minecraft which adds quantum physics mechanics to the game as a way of educating Minecraft fans on the topic.
On the official page for the mod a post about the qCraft mod says, "qCraft is not a simulation of quantum physics (this is v1 after all) but it does provide ‘analogies’ that attempt to show how quantum behaviors are different from everyday experience."
You can download the qCraft mod and learn more about it by heading here. You can check out a video showcasing the mod below.

Our TakeI don't know much about quantum physics beyond the wikipedia entry on the science, which is why I think this mod is very interesting. I really admire MinecraftEdu and Mojang's attempts to add educational mechanics to the game, and Google getting involved certainly couldn't hurt.
Email the author Kyle Hilliard, or follow on Twitter, Google+, Facebook, and Game Informer.
I'm certainly not a quantum physics expert, but it seems a really interesting idea. Not enough to get me back into playing Minecraft, but still cool.
Quantum physics sounds like getting punched in the brain.
Welp, we're going to see pigs fly.
I can't tell if the last part of the Our Take section is sarcastic or not.
As great as Minecraft is, I think it's a little limited in what it can show as far as education in quantum mechanics. It might get some kids interested, though...
I will be downloading and trying it out for myself anyway.
I have no idea what was going on. How was this educational. I guess you have to have at least a basic idea what quantum physics is.
I understood the concept when I watched this vid a week ago: however execution is still sourly lacking as well as the explanation on how to execute the blocks to form the block you want based on your viewpoint. Does it only work with visual blocks, or can I mask a quantum block say with a furnace on side, a craft table on the other? So far it looks to hold just elementary illusionists trickery, like the draw bridge being down on one view, but up on the next: (doesn't work both ways though so you need an alternate exit to your home if you do this for you).
But again still no proper explanation on how to get the quantum blocks to do what it is you want.
I don't understand what this actually does. It seems if you step in to a certain area, objects are replaced with different objects. Is that all this is?
Or... You could just buy Antichamber or the Stanley Parable. Both of which look much better than this mod, if you ask me.
I explained quantum physics to my grandma using Wheel of Fortune. Went well.
"quantum physics mechanics" is a redundant string of words, friend. Study a bit more before using words you don't understand!
Mojang? C'mon, GI...Dan200 (the author of the ComputerCraft and qCraf MODS) is far more responsible for this than Mojang is. It even runs on the MCForge mod API. Do a little more homework so your articles are more accurate...
