The lights are on
This morning we reported that Rockstar is still hard at work stomping out Grand Theft Auto Online bugs, leading to a delay in the first of two "stimulus package" in-game cash disbursements. We still don't know when that will be happening, but Rockstar has offered hope that it will be next week after a new title update arrives.
The Beach Bum Pack will be coming in early November. This will add vehicles like dune buggies and new weapons that can be used online and in story mode. It will also bring a number of new customization options, jobs, races, and more.
The Content Creator will be after that. It will arrive sometime this fall, giving players the opportunity to build deathmatches and races. The best will get Rockstar's stamp of approval and get the spotlight on the Rockstar Newswire and Social Club events.
Finally, Rockstar will begin Social Club Event Weekends in November. These will offer in-game rewards, some of which that will be tailored specifically for the event. You can read more about Grand Theft Auto Online in two recent features that offer up tips for playing and suggestions for Rockstar on how the experience might be improved.
Our TakeThese content packs, especially the creation tools, are absolutely vital for Rockstar to keep the GTA buzz going. The more unique opportunities offered, the more reasons players will have to come back (and purchase in-game money). After such a strong critical and commercial reception, it would be a shame for the GTA Online problems to be what people remember most about GTA V.

That's cool, the packs sound really cool.
Saw "Release" + "Windows" = Short-lived excitement for possibility of PC announcement.
I haven't played it since last week when the previous update was destroying game data. I'll probably get back into G.T.A. online this weekend, but it appears that the possibility of losing everything continues to loom over this fun but flawed online experience.
Social club weekends sounds awesome! It will be really cool to have a small amount of time with some direction in GTA Online. Currently when I get on I think, "ok, I am going to get a group together to do a job and then just stay in the playlist to earn a lot of money and level up". What ends up happening is I see a good car that I should steal and sell, then someone on the map gets a bounty on their head that I should try to go get. Everyone else is trying to kill the same guy and starts trying to take out the competition, so I kill a few of the other players before dying myself. Then I am out for vengeance because the same guy who killed me also earned the bounty. I chase him down in the car I am supposed to be selling and finally kill him, but he dropped a grenade and blew me and my $9k car up at the same time. I love this game!
The only way GTAO can survive longer than two years is NOT DLC, but bringing it to PC and next gen conoles. the shift will begin on November 15. Many people will trade or sell their current gen consoles in order to buy next gen. Most will keep their old systems ONLINE for only a few games, GTAO, er....um....any others im missing? But only for a little while. What about SYSTEM JUMPERS? The people that are making the switch to the "other" next gen console. They sure as hell aren't going to pay for two subscriptions for long. Seems like basic business sense to me. Am I wrong? I am one of those "system jumpers". I plan on fully disconnecting my current gen console as soon as possible. Only a few Indie games I play online, one or two AAA titles. Including GTAO. Most of my games are mainly single player anyway. I'll miss Blacklist Spies vs. Mercs, I'll miss 1943, and eventually i'll miss GTAO if it doesn't get the PC/next gen treatment. Its not worth paying $60.00 yr to play only a few games online if you dont plan on purchasing any more current gen multiplayer games. In my opinion anyway.
GTA Online is a disappointment, I have hope I'll enjoy it more in the future.
Woo Hoo more weapons and vehicles. Can't wait. Also I'm really glad I got the gamestop collectors edition. Worth the extra content and stuff. Only collector set I've bought this console generation. Love the game. Tried the online but decided to wait at least till sometime in November after more updates & bug fixes stuff.
