The lights are on
Microsoft took to Twitch yesterday to show off some Powerstar Golf gameplay. The title is more casual than something like EA's Tiger Woods offering, and it's worth taking a look at the footage. More interesting is that the achievements the players earn show off how that system has been upgraded for Xbox One.
As you probably know, when an achievement is earned on Xbox 360, only the circle of light quadrant indicates which player earned it. That can be hard to see in the thick of gameplay.
The Xbox One will not only color-code achievements, but the pop-ups have two phases. The first indicates which player earned it, and the second displays the achievement. Both are color coded.
You can see it for yourself at the 11:20 mark and then again at the 13:45 mark of the Twitch archive video. The Xbox One will be released in just under a month, on November 22, 2013. Powerstar Golf is one of the 23 Xbox One launch titles.

Our TakeThis is another small convenience feature that shows an evolution of thought about the user experience. I don't often play co-op on the couch, but for the times that I do, it'll be nice to have this feature.

That's interesting. I never knew that the quadrant of light blinked for achievements.
A nice little perk. Especially for Co-op gamers. I known its sometimes daunting thinking you've just earned a hard to get achievement only to find out that it wasn't really you at all.
It is a nice little convenience. Nothing huge, but these little things matter to some users. I know most users will be complaining about why MS isn't focusing on more important matters, yada yada yada, and all that. But all these little things add up in the long run.
This is a really cool feature that I had never even thought of. I genuinely like it when creators are smarter than me.
It's not that hard to see an achievement while playing co-op, trust me. It's covered my screen so many times. This just sounds like the notifications will just stay on my screen longer.
thats cool as hell
No Way!!!! Colors?!
This can be beneficial I guess... still nothing to get get too excited or disappointed about. I sure wish we could get a bit more scoop on Sony's UI. Its bound in 3 weeks and we just don't know what's coming out of the box...
Okay? I didn't have a problem before, but this is fine, I guess.
Hey, doesn't really benefit anything but might as well put the feature in there somewhere.
Very simple, but I like it :)
That is cool i guess.
so what if 2+ people get the achievement?
This is gonna be a lot nicer when you play. Thank you, Microsoft.
