EA and Maxis have announced that their latest emotion-filled life simulator, The Sims 4, will be arriving toward the end of next year. EA pulled the curtain back on the features of the series a couple of months ago at Gamescom 2013.

Included in the upcoming sequel are more accessible building and customization tools. Home construction and decorating looks easier than ever, and the new Sim appearance tools give players more direct control over how their sims look.

You can read a two-page preview of The Sims 4 in the October 2013 issue of Game Informer.

Our Take
After Maxis' sever stumble with SimCity, it's good that the studio is taking its time with The Sims 4. The gameplay we saw at Gamescom certainly looked promising for newcomers and veterans alike.
