The lights are on
EA and Maxis have announced that their latest emotion-filled life simulator, The Sims 4, will be arriving toward the end of next year. EA pulled the curtain back on the features of the series a couple of months ago at Gamescom 2013.
Included in the upcoming sequel are more accessible building and customization tools. Home construction and decorating looks easier than ever, and the new Sim appearance tools give players more direct control over how their sims look.
You can read a two-page preview of The Sims 4 in the October 2013 issue of Game Informer.
Our TakeAfter Maxis' sever stumble with SimCity, it's good that the studio is taking its time with The Sims 4. The gameplay we saw at Gamescom certainly looked promising for newcomers and veterans alike.

I've never really been much into the sims games.
I'm supposing this is the PC only release, right? If it is, I wonder when the console versions will be out? Even though this is probably the PC release, I'm still pretty excited. :D
Can't wait. Got Sims 3 on Xbox because my computer is terrible and thoroughly enjoyed it. I got the Starter pack for PC during the Origin Humble Bundle too and thoroughly enjoyed all of the bonus features for PC.
Need to upgrade my PC to play this. What do I need? A new graphic card and more RAM?
I'm new to Steam. Is this a title that will be on there? I friggin' hate Origin...
I wonder will things like college (university), dogs/cats (Pets), Winter/Fall/Summer/Spring (Seasons), Going out/dating (Late Night), be included with base game. If not, it is just another reason to dislike EA and those who prove that they will buy the same content over and over if you just change the number behind the title.
Wow. They are still making these games?
