The lights are on
When Nintendo first released the 3DS handheld back in early 2011, gamers complained that there wasn't much of a reason to buy the system. Since then the handheld's library has grown considerably. Has it been enough to convince you to buy one?
The reasons to own Nintendo's current handheld are mounting. The system's library now includes two Mario games, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and Fire Emblem: Awakening, as well as the recently released Pokémon X and Y. Games like The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Super Smash Bros. are also on the horizon. If that's not enough for you, Ninendo's e-shop features a wealth of titles from old SNES and NES classics to newer gems like Push Mo.
I'm not trying to push you into buying a 3DS. I'm just curious if you already own one. I have one myself, but I find that I rarely use it. I'm often drawn to larger console experiences when I'm at home, and I don't have a lot of time for mobile gaming when I'm out and about.
What about you? Do you have a 3DS? Do you use it much? Or do you find that you don't have much time for gaming on the go? Perhaps your mobile gaming needs are satisfied by your phone, tablet, or Sony's Vita. What would it take to convince you to buy a 3DS? Metroid? What's holding you back from adding it to your Christmas list? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

got my original ambassador 3ds following the wii u reveal e3, was happy with it then and it got stolen , i've since replaced it with another original 3ds ( sadly i don't have the ambassador games tho :( ) and don't regret it still , i do however prefer my vita since 3ds cramps my hands a bit after playing a while cause its so skinny.
i'd love to get an XL for mario and super smash bros. games, but I don't have the money for it, if they made a metroid prime game it I would become a beggar and beg everyone for money to get one
i bought the nintendo 2ds with pokemon y so ehh
Day one here and happy will up size for new Zelda in nov.
Been playing Pokemon Y, a bit bummed I can't trade from Black/White until December... Having fun with the game anyways though.
I remember buying the 3DS at launch, with Street Fighter IV, then never really played Street Fighter on it as much as i thought I would.
I got one to play Super Mario Land and Mario Kart 7. Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, and OoT 3d made great additions. I love the system, though I never play with 3d enabled because it hurts my eyes.
My niece is nice enough to share her 3ds with me. The only 3ds game I owne is pokemon Y and I bought that for nostalgia reasons. I do want my owne so that way we can play ssb togther when it releases and of course to battle her in pokemon. I will say the KH dream drop distance is also a great game for the handheld
I'm interested, though I wish they'd bring that new Zelda 3ds XL to america, I know there are rumors and if they are true it SHALL BE MINE! but honestly. Other than the new repertoire of games I wasn't interested way back when, the technology intrigued me, but I was more prone to a PS vita. Yet, once again with the PC market trying to make PC gaming a mobile hand held thing I'm starting to think the classic mobile gaming systems are going to be a thing of the past. Sony dropped the ball by not making the Ps vita a second screen experience, and just switching to Ipod(though much more economical) it's still sad because using it as a controller like the wiiu would have been sweet. Okay sorry rambling about a system again. but yea new game plus super smahs coming soon to it make me wnat it.
I am definitely sold on the 3DS, I just need to buy one. I'll hopefully purchase one within the next month or so. I've mainly been drawn to it as I've seen Nintendo support it with some really great games and I wish to play them.
I use my 3DS all the time! Not only are there great 3D games, but I can go back and play any DS games I missed. When I first got it my fiance borrowed it so frequently that one day I told her to get her own, and she did! Now we are playing Pokemon X and Y together!
I already have one and I play it at home.
I've purchased 2.
OG 3DS then upgraded to the 3DS XL, and glad I did.
Love my 3DS. I've gotten hours of enjoyment out of it. Fire Emblem: Awakening, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D are all great.
I bought one back in November 2011 (through a Black Friday sale, which was the only way I could afford it) solely for Ocarina of Time and afterwards began to regret my decision since for quite some time no new games came out for it that I was interested in. However, Pokemon X and Y have made me very glad to own a 3DS as does the upcoming release of Link Between Worlds.
I'm really enjoying my 3DS. Bought it for FE:A and haven't regretted it ever since. Especially with the release of Pokemon X/Y as well.
It's definitely a good time for 3DS players.
I actually just got mine a couple of weeks ago as a present from my girlfriend. She bought it for me since it was my birthday. I have the Red 3DS XL. I have to say if anyone gets a 3DS they need to get an XL and if anything not a 2DS...I mean seriously why not hinges? I currently own Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and Pokemon Y. I want to buy more games from the Nintendo Shop too because the variety of games there are outstanding. I bought Gunman Clive as my first digital purchase. I am definitely happy that I have one.
Oh, man... I really like my 3DS! I have so many games for it!
I bought one a while back. The 3DS has a much more engaging and diverse library than the Wii U at this point. Some of my favorite franchises, including Castlevania, Mario & Luigi, Resident Evil and Zelda all have essential releases on the system. No other console boasts this diverse of a lineup, in my opinion. What a difference a year makes!
