The lights are on
When Nintendo first released the 3DS handheld back in early 2011, gamers complained that there wasn't much of a reason to buy the system. Since then the handheld's library has grown considerably. Has it been enough to convince you to buy one?
The reasons to own Nintendo's current handheld are mounting. The system's library now includes two Mario games, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and Fire Emblem: Awakening, as well as the recently released Pokémon X and Y. Games like The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Super Smash Bros. are also on the horizon. If that's not enough for you, Ninendo's e-shop features a wealth of titles from old SNES and NES classics to newer gems like Push Mo.
I'm not trying to push you into buying a 3DS. I'm just curious if you already own one. I have one myself, but I find that I rarely use it. I'm often drawn to larger console experiences when I'm at home, and I don't have a lot of time for mobile gaming when I'm out and about.
What about you? Do you have a 3DS? Do you use it much? Or do you find that you don't have much time for gaming on the go? Perhaps your mobile gaming needs are satisfied by your phone, tablet, or Sony's Vita. What would it take to convince you to buy a 3DS? Metroid? What's holding you back from adding it to your Christmas list? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Yes I am.
1. I've heard the 3DS has had some pretty terrific games.
2. I want to start playing on the go besides playing on my phone.
3. That Zelda 3DS came stateside... I'm a sucker for that.
I have a 3DS, and I like it alot, but lately I've been playing jrpgs on it and have become burnt out for now.
I'm Sold on getting one but just cant afford one right now plus i'm holding out till that Special Zelda 3DS comes out whit the new Zelda game. Hopefully ill have the extra money then to buy it.
Nah, I'm not a fan of mobile gaming.
I was sold the moment I played Kingdom Hearts 3D
I've enjoyed my 3DS. It is my favorite console on the go or when I am indisposed. Finally got to play through the Shantae series and looking forward to the next offering as well as the new Rune Factory and now Hometown story. I think it appeals to a small market, especially when it comes to more classic style RPG's and platformers.
I love my 3DS, I've owned it since Christmas 2011. So far this year I've put 360 hours into it, between Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, and recently, Pokemon. It's a great system with a giant library.
XL. Old dude who has DS games, and the library of 3DS games is pretty swell looking, but would appreciate the bigger screen. Plus, if they release a remake of Majora's Mask to go along with Ocarina, then hooboy. I'd rather have an HD console version of MM, but I don't have a Wii U yet.
3DS is fun but not getting the mileage out of it that I used to...finding I'm spending more time either on the console or pc for my gaming needs (even the Vita sees more action than 3ds these days, I know right?)
Have had one for a while but didn't get a game for it until Kingdom Hearts DDD, now with Pokemon Y Ican say those two games alone were worth it.
If it had a built in second circle pad thing then I would buy one. I used to into handheld gaming when the GBA released but I haven't been since then, the amount of bad games in that library really pushed me away from handhelds. But I want to play Nintendo's eshop classics since I missed out on them when they originally released. But I still will wait for the circle pad pro to built in before I do, I don't want to have to buy a peripheral for something that should come standard.
I used to own 2, sold one as I needed the $ to feed my kids: but outside of that I still have my first and I don't regret buying it. I've beaten every game I own for it, though I haven't rushed out for any newer 2013 titles as of yet. There are a few titles I plan to get this year for my kids stocking stuffer: Luigi's Mansion, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and likely Zelda : A Link between Worlds for myself.
Metroid is long over due regardless of platform it's on.
Early adopter since I could not pass up the limited Ocarina of Time 3DS. Beautiful looking device, so no regrets. But I do not play it much. I am so behind on the key titles. Have not even gotten Pokemon yet, an experience I always love. It is not the handheld aspect for me, though. My gaming has gone way down in the past couple of years. League of Legends is the only title I play with any regularity.
I want to get one but with the PS4 coming out I wont have much money to get one, but I am planning too soon.
I think Im finally sold with the link between worlds bundle. Theres enough other games to play on it now too.
The only thing is, I had a DS and changed up DSi for 20$, but I hardly ever used it. I dont realy play mobile stuff. But oh well. I will enjoy zelda and a few others.
