Slender: The Arrival Coming to Steam With Additional Content

Developer Blue Isle Studios is bringing its survival horror game Slender: The Arrival to Steam on October 28. The Steam release includes extended levels and a new character. The developer also said that it is planning to bring the game to consoles in the first quarter of 2014, but did not specify which consoles.

Slender: The Arrival is a sequel to the wildly popular (and free) Slender: Eight Pages. The sequel expands on the story from the first game, revealing more about the terrifying Slender Man. This time, players will take control of Laura, an innocent realtor who gets swept into a dark mystery when her friend disappears. Using only a flashlight and camcorder, she must figure out what happened to her friend and escape the relentless Slender Man. The game also supports Oculus Rift for all you masochists out there.

Our Take
I'm not sure if I'll ever be brave enough to play games like Slender or Amnesia, though I appreciate their existence. Being on Steam gives these indie survival horror games more exposure, which is good because independent developers are tackling the genre better than the big studios right now. Also, a Steam game will inevitably go on sale for ridiculously low prices.
