The lights are on
The Stanley Parable released on Thursday, and in a postmortem on the game's official blog, the developers revealed that the game has sold more than 100,000 copies.
Along with the game's sales, the blog also reveals that between 150,000 and 200,000 players have played the game's demo.
The full blog offers an interesting breakdown of everything that has happened since the game's release, even touching on the emotional aspect of building and releasing a video game.
Currently, The Stanley Parable is only available on PC, but it should be coming to Mac soon. For more on the game, check out our Test Chamber.
Our TakeIt's always good to see independent games find success. It's only been a few days since the game's release and it s already posting pretty impressive numbers.

Never heard of this game, but it's obviously something I should check out if that many people enjoy the game.
Bought it. Loved it. Watched the Test Chamber. Loved that too.
Moral: Buy it.
The game is very well written and hilarious. A lot to think about, not just commentary on the game industry.
As soon as I saw the Test Chamber GI did on this game, I knew I had to buy it. It looks fantastic.
Great news, this game looks pretty funny. Ill probably get it later down the road during a sale.
That is great news. Hope there are more games like this in the future.
I would love to see this game become so successful that they go ahead and port it to the Xbox Live or PSN. I would love to play it... only had the chance to watch the test chamber and read about it online. Probably one of the most clever and mind-numbingly awesome games I have ever seen. Wonderful, wonderful stuff indeed.
Great. They really deserve it. Amazing game. Such a special experience. Wish them the best of luck and i hope they'll continue to create experiences that can't be found in any other media :)
Nice. Plan on getting this as soon as the Mac version's ready. Looks and sounds great.
Got my copy today thanks to your test chamber
Hopefully they review this game, it seems like it deserves all the attention it can get
I haven't played the stand alone release yet, but I have finished the Half Life mod several times, to get all the endings. It's awesome.
I don't wanna buy it full price cos it's so short and light on replay value after all the branching paths are discovered, but I'll def cop this for $7 on a Steam sale.
This game looks like a prime candidate for one of the Humble Bundles some day. I think I'll probably wait for it till then.
They can probably thank their personalized Steam Train demo for that.
This game is insane and also one of my favorites this year.
