The lights are on
Microsoft has announced this morning that its two-a-month free game program, Xbox Live Games with Gold, will now be an "ongoing benefit" for Xbox 360 owners. Microsoft states that in a recent survey, 97 percent of users approved of Games with Gold.
This month's free games were Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes in the first part of October and Halo 3 right now. The mix has largely been older retail and arcade titles.

Our TakeI already thought this was an ongoing program, so this news comes as a bit of a surprise. I'm also not shocked that 97 percent of people like free games (the real surprise is the 3 percent that don't). Let's just hope that Microsoft steps up its game, if only for the sake of the PlayStation Plus comparisons. I also noticed that Microsoft was careful to only include Xbox 360 in its post. Here's hoping that Xbox One users eventually get included.

Mike, how could you think it was an ongoing program when they made it clear at E3 that this would only last until the end of the year?
