The lights are on
Nvidia is currently hosting a major event in Montreal, at which they revealed holiday deals offering free games and discounts on the Shield handheld. All you need to do is purchase one of the company's video cards.
If you purchase a GeForce GTX 660 or 760, you'll get Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Splinter Cell: Blacklist free along with $50 off the Shield. If you get a 770, 780, or Titan, you'll also get Batman: Arkham Origins and $100 off the Shield.
Our TakeGiven the price of these video cards, free games certainly help ease the pain on the wallet. A Titan can run you close to $1,000. A few free games (that will look stunning) might help you forget that you just spent a month's rent on one part for your PC.

Sounds like a hip dealio, indeed.
The Shield is a very pretty device, but it lacks the ability to stand alone without a library of exclusive games.
That's a sweet deal on some insane video cards
Not bad. May be able to take advantage of this. Waiting for prices from both AMD and Nvidia to settle due to AMD's recent video card series.
Pretty messed up that they're supporting new customers with the deal, but older customers who bought their cards earlier get nothing. Nice.
Actually you get both Splinter Cell Conviction and Blacklist for free with the card.
I Should of waited to get my 770, would've got arkham origins for free
I still think Nvidia has dropped the ball. They let their chief rivals gain tremendous market share by running the table on the consoles. Now all they are doing is matching what their competitors are already doing with their video cards. I predict Nvidia is going to start dropping away from the competition real quick.
$1000 is a month's rent!?
Jaysus, that's more than my mortgage...
