The lights are on
This week brought news of two next-gen launch titles seeing delays, pushing them outside of day-one availability for the next generation of consoles. Do the delays of these games affect your plans for adopting the next-generation of video game consoles?
Watch Dogs is going to be a cross-generation release, meaning even though it has been delayed, it will still release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U, as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Many were planning to make Watch Dogs their introduction to the new consoles, but now the game won’t be available until next year.
DriveClub was supposed to be a PlayStation 4 launch title, and was planned to be among the first of the consoles free games offered to members of PlayStation Plus. Now the game won’t be available until next year.
Were either of these games the sole reason you were planning to be an early adopter of the new consoles? The Watch Dogs PlayStation 4 bundle shows that it was the main incentive for some consumers. In the case of DriveClub’s delay, will consumers jump ship to the Xbox One so that they can play Forza Motorsport 5? Let us know where you stand in the comments below.

yes. watch dogs was number one
Nope! Got a bunch of indie games and ac4 for ps4 so I'm happy still. Got some games for current gen as well so the lack of them just saves me a little bit if cash until they're released
The delays won't stop me from picking up my PS4 next month, but I was certainly looking forward to the single player experience that Watch Dogs was going to offer. Now I am left to choose from multiplayer games.
Nope, I'm still set for my Xbox One (and maybe PS4 if the stars line up right). I still have Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, and maybe Killer Instinct. Those with CoD: Ghost, Battlefield 4, NBA 2K14, Need for Speed, Assassin's Creed 4, and maybe Madden 25, I'm good for this fall/winter.
Not at all, there's still three games at launch that I want, those should be enough to get me started. I'm getting a PS4 by the way.
I had no plans on buying either of them but I think this delay is the best news you could hear about them. Ubisoft has been on a milking spree and hearing news that they're actually taking their TIME and spending their money wisely to polish their game and make it better than what they've been doing with Assassins Creed has actually sparked my interest in Watch Dogs. I'll definitely give it a rental one day and hopefully end up surprised.
I had the Watchdogs PS4 console bundle pre-ordered and an Xbox One with Forza 5. Super disappointed that it's not going to be available at launch, same with Drive Club. I'll probably wind up getting Knack and then spend time figuring out which console better integrates into my home theater setup.
i have no next gen gen plans so no.
Nope! I prefer developers to take their time & work out whatever it is they need more time for. Rushing the project leads to unhappy consumers & unfinished products. LOL, we've all experienced that too many times with our current gen consoles. It does bum me out a little that I have to wait, but there's plenty of games out there that I still need to play.
Not really. I wasn't interested in Drive Club at all, and I need to see more of Watch Dogs before I make a decision to buy it when it comes out. I'm still excited for next gen.
