The lights are on
Mike Mendheim's attempt to resurrect EA's old Mutant League Football via Kickstarter as Mutant Football League has failed its funding goal.
The game raised $141,821 of its $750,000 goal and attainted 1,105 backers.
Mendheim said via Twitter, "We will be back my friends. Not sure how, when.. but were coming."
For more on the game, take a look at our interview with Mendheim in the October issue of Game Informer.

Our Take:It's unfortunate for Mendheim and backers of the project, but I guess it's a case of how people remember something fondly, but it turns out that perhaps they're not as enamored with it as they think.

Darn it. This looked fun.
Well that's really sad. I hope the next time through they can get funding. I would like to see a resurgence from this series.
sucks but they were trying to relive a series that never had a lot of fans to begin with..plus 750,000 dollars is a lot of money...I don't know anybody who is actually is a big fan of this series...
Maybe it would've helped if they had a rough graphics demo running, rather than just some concept art.
I mean he's not Keiji Inafune. When Yacht Club went to their kickstarter they at least had a little Shovel Knight character walking around some levels.
I love Mutant League Football, but I must say that the way this looked was kind of meh. Feel like that may have had a bit to do with not being to much interest.
NO!!!!! I wanted this so bad!
Dang, what a shame- that would have been interesting.
I think gamers hate football in all it's forms
Dang. I can't say much because I've never backed a Kickstarter project before (including this one), but all I ever hear about Mutant League Football is that it was just plain fun to play. I'd love to see the game revived.
If only enough people and some of the younger crowd remembered the cartoon series. I use to watch this every morning before school.
