The lights are on
It's relatively rare to release a blockbuster new IP so late in a console cycle, so many had wondered if Naughty Dog was thinking about porting The Last of Us to PlayStation 4. Looks like that's not happening.
In a Q&A with fans on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli was asked about the possibility of a PS4 port of The Last of Us. He answered plainly: "We have no plans to do that."
However, Naughty Dog isn't done with The Last of Us. The Abandoned Territories multiplayer map pack released on PlayStation Network earlier this week. There are two more planned multiplayer DLC packs for the game.

Our Take:This is good news. The Last of Us is one of the most amazing games of this year, but I'd much rather Naughty Dog and Sony spend their time working on truly next-generation new IPs than porting over a game that already looks gorgeous to new hardware.

I was hoping to see some bigger news come out about TLOU last night.
I set a calendar alert on my phone for 8:00pm, Oct.17,2013. I thought that was going to be some announcement because there was an evacuation notice in-game with that very specific time and date on it. The location was Amherst County, which I suppose is in Mass. ?
But, so far, after a little internet hunting, I've come up with nothing special...
First I was like..NOOOOO
then I was like.. New IP so Better product
To be honest, I wouldn't want to see it ported. The Last Of Us is my favorite game of all time and I'd much rather see Naughty Dog work on either a sequel to Uncharted or TLOU, or a brand new IP. We've all seen how Naughty Dog did with the power of the PS3, imagine what they'll do with the PS4.
I love this game and would like to see it on next gen, but it already looks amazing how it is. I think they should just work on making another great new IP.
That's a smart move, risky, but resources and money are better spent on their existing works in progress.
Well, I guess that means I'm never gonna get to play this game, which really sucks!
I need to play this game and have heard nothing but praise everywhere.
Good– they don't need to port it. Use your resources on something new. A smart move if you ask me.
Just one more reason to keep your PS3 :P
Wow. I figured this would be one of the main ones that would have been ported over. Pretty surprising.
Amen to that!
Why port it? It's available on PS3 and there likely won't be enough early adopters (even though I will be one) to justify a port.
