The lights are on
In a second Xbox One video released today, Microsoft talks more about multiplayer and the reputation system. You'll learn more about dedicated servers, matchmaking, how to block disruptive users, and more.
We also hear about the cloud and how it's used in Titanfall. Xbox Home Gold gets some more detail from members of the team, and the decoupling of achievements from individual games. For more on Xbox One, check out the friends list video from earlier today.
Our TakeThe portability of profiles is one of the most interesting things to me. Being able to assign favorites and take them with me is a useful feature. I'm also excited for Home Gold, as I'm getting a little tired of getting booted off my profile when my kids want to watch Netflix. The more we learn about the Xbox One user experience, the more I'm excited to try it out for myself.
Some interesting little improvements over the current formula.
I can see the reputation system being easily abused, but I don't play too much online so it doesn't even matter. Not to mention, I'm probably going to get a PS4 anyway.
Cool. Doesn't sound like too much that we haven't already heard though.
So Community Achievements and Challenge Achievements!!! @_@
why do they talk about gold like its special? You need gold to do anything they should stop trying to make it seem like its a premium membership when now everyone needs it
I know Playstation was getting a lot of praise for being dedicated to gamers, as Xbox seemed to push more of their multimedia aspects at first, but I believe they are now started to reveal more features like these that show they're still working to make their gaming experiences better for the players. It might not have been the smartest move to choose the marketing order that they did, but in my opinion, these appear to be steps in the right direction.
