The lights are on
Soda Drinker Pro, the game where you simulate the act of drinking soda, is adding Oculus Rift support, and it will get an official, full release next month.
You can download the game right now by heading here, and on November 2, the game will be available with added Oculus Rift support.
We recently spoke with Soda Drinker Pro creator Will Brierly in an in-depth interview about some of the most important issues affecting video game development. Head here for Brierly's thoughts on whether video games should be considered art, the feasibility of a download-only future for video games, and why always online was never really a consideration for Soda Drinker Pro.
Soda Drinker Pro is currently running a Steam Greenlight campaign, which you can find out more about here.
Our TakeSometimes video games serve as an escape from reality, allowing us to do and see things we would never normally be able to experience in our normal lives. Sometimes video games serve as impressive simulations allowing us to perceive our own world from a safe distance and from a new perspective. Soda Drinker Pro is neither of these things. It exists somewhere inbetween, straddling the line of abstract reality, and detailed simulation.

GOTY, Calling it.
I think I might purchase the Oculus Rift just for this game. I mean, wow, what could be more amazing?
I'm sure with oculus rift support this game will be almost identical to drinking soda in real life, if that's even possible.
Oculus Rift coming with smell-o-vision?
This game; I'm all over it. I can experience the greatness of soda without all the downsides of real soda, and now I can do it with Oculus Rift.
Whatever I just read here made me dumber.
This game is bad because it will teach our country's youth that they can go around drinking soda all the time and then they'll lose all their teeth in real life.
Hahaha, I remember this xD
