The lights are on
Planned for release alongside the film of the same name, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is getting a video game adaptation.
The game is developed by Beenox, the same studio that created the first The Amazing Spider-Man game. It will feature an open-world, similar to the first game, and will offer an alternate take on the events of the second film.
The game will be available next Spring for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, and PC. The Amazing Spider-Man was recently announced for Vita, but no Vita plans were announced for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Our TakeIt's no surprise to see a new Spider-Man game on the way. We didn't love the first Amazing Spider-Man game, but that doesn't mean we don't like Spider-Man games in general. When they're awesome, they're really awesome, so we're hopeful for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

As long as it is better than Web of Shadows...that game is rough.
hopefully in this one the web will have to hit a building. No more air webs. How is it possible that spiderman 2 and the ps2 is still has the best web swinging? It boggles the mind.
Web slinging anchors!!! Make it happen!
Give it the combat of Ultimate spiderman and the web swinging of Spiderman 2 with a bunch of updates. Its 2013, what is so hard about that?
Seeing as Spider Man 2 was/is one of my favorite super hero video games ever, I hope they can deliver on the same fronts that game did.
Well Beenox isn't being forced into making a game a year, so hopefully they'll have the gameplay nailed for this one.
I actually found the last one to be quite enjoyable. It is my favorite Spider-Man game to date and I thought I wouldn't like one better than the classic Spider-Man 2. The next game can easily be improved by Beenox listening to fans. Give it a better combat system, some memorable missions, don't go too ridiculous with the story, and it would be really awesome. The graphics should look even better since it is going to next-gen systems so that in itself is a plus.
Spider-Man 2 is the best Spider-Man game to date.
Shattered Dimensions was good, Edge of Time was terrible, Amazing Spider-Man was okay, I wonder how this will fare
Honestly, I liked Amazing Spider-man quite a bit. I liked everything I played of it up to the point of boring bosses and a do-nothing story, but I liked the Arkham combat clone and the web-swining minus its lack of, ya know, attaching to buildings. I think that The Amazing Spider-man, Spider-man 2, and Ultimate Spider-man already have set the stage for the best Spider-man game ever, so the potential may be there to make this surprisingly good. I'm also confident that Beenox had 2 years to make this one, so they might have had the resources on hand to make this special. Who knows? If history repeats itself for the next Spider-man trilogy, this movie game could be the best in years.
When I first saw the headline I thought it might be a Spider Man 2 remake. Imagine my dissapointment when I read closer
The Amazing Spider-Man game was a step in the right direction as far as bringing back the open world, but I still can't bring myself to fully enjoy a Spidey game in which your webs stick to invisible zeppelins over your head. This was acceptable for the old comic-based game for the Dreamcast and Playstation, but after playing Spider-Man 2 and 3, I can't accept a game where your webs don't stick to actual buildings.
I heard good things about the first one from other sites. I think I will pick it up for Vita.
Hopefully it will be as great a Spider-Man 2!! I love that game.
