The lights are on
The real question is, are you picking up Pokémon at all, but pending a positive response to that question, which one?
I went with Y when I had the choice, simply because I liked the Y version of Mewtwo better. It was a pretty shallow decision, and I am curious if yours will be more in-depth.
Also, if you are picking the game up, are you a returning fan who has played every release? A fan who hasn’t played Pokémon in awhile? Or are you taking the Pokémon plunge for the first time? If you’ve never played Pokémon before, either X or Y is a good place to start. Or maybe you are completely uninterested in Pokémon. Tell us why!
Nintendo hasn’t revealed all the differences between the two games, but I am curious your decision making process based on what has been revealed.

Y because I'm a dude. My sister is getting X. We'll collect all the Pokemon :3
Not quite sure yet, but I think I'm going for Y, who knows? But I am extremely excited regardless. I never did care which version I got unless it was the bonus laden third edition. I'm not too picky when it comes to tiny little details that have certain pokemon.
I'm picking up X because I think the legendary Pokemon it features looks awesome and, also the Mega Evolution of Charizard looks great, too. I was a hardcore fan when I was younger and haven't gotten into the most recent releases, specifically all the Black and White games, but I'm attempting to go back, and so far, I'm excited about what I'm seeing!
Y, the legendary looks way better.
I was going to eventually pick it up and decided to go pre order it now while I have 30 mins to do so. From the beginning I was leaning on getting X and so I shall.
I'm picking up Pokemon Y tomorrow because Yveltal is a flying type and flying Pokemon are my favorite. I've all generations but started with Diamond and Pearl.
If I had a 3ds I would pick up X because I like the mega evolutions better. Both of the legendary pokemon look cool though. I started off playing the series with yellow, then I played red and fire red. I never played the other ones, but I would definitely pick this up if I had a 3ds.
Going in for Y. Has a more badass legendary.
i REEAALY want this, But i don't want to buy a DS.
I bought my brother the pre-order for his birthday on the 2nd of this month. I'm not going to play it - the last few installments felt like ol' formulaic and generic Pokemon to me.
I'll be watching him though. I want to see if it's any good - if it is better than I thought, then of course I'll pick up a 'Y' copy.
Y, because Yveltal looks awesome. I'm not picking it up immediately, though, because I want to play the games I have first. It's hard, though--I may give in tomorrow and buy it after all!
I'm a returning fan. I went through a phase where I didn't play Pokémon anymore, but SoulSilver showed me the error of my ways and I caught up on the series.
Nope. The only time I had any interaction with Pokemon series is the one time I had to use that manga as toilet paper.
When I first heard about the games and saw the new Mew-two I thought NOOOOOOO. Then I saw the panda pokemon and thought "ok u got my attention" and then when they revealed the original starters I was sold. Can't wait to get my Charmander.Going with Y because I like the legendary more.
X after the holidays. Broke and waiting for PS4 and AC4.
Returning fan. Picking up Y because at first glance, I thought the games would maybe have some kind of genetic spin to them, and since the male genotype is XY, I thought I would go with Y. Frankly, I think Xerneas is the cooler/better legendary, but I am introducing my little brother to Pokemon with this generation, so I want him to have the legendary I think is best. Now watch him like the Y legendary more lol. Can't wait to play, wish I didn't have a huge test looming. For some reason, Pokemon never gets old to me.
