The lights are on
Rapper Daz Dillinger has issued a cease and desist letter to Rockstar
games claiming his music was used in Grand Theft Auto V without
permission, and is demanding the recall and destruction of all unsold
copies of the game.
According to a report from TMZ, Rockstar approached Mr. Dillinger for the use of the tracks "C-Walk" and "Nothin' But the Cavi Hit", offering $4,271 for both tracks. Dillinger declined the offer, but the songs appeared in the game. In retaliation, Dillinger and his attorneys send Rockstar Games a cease and desist letter demanding it recall and destroy all unsold copies of the game.
Dillinger told TMZ that the letter was issued over a matter of "respecting an artist's work. Rockstar didn't do that here and I can't let them get away with it." Rockstar has sold more than $1 billion worth of copies of Grand Theft Auto V.
Our TakeIt's highly unlikely that Rockstar will recall Grand Theft Auto V. It's certainly possible that Rockstar used Dillinger's music without permission, but it was more likely a matter of oversight as opposed to malicious intent. Dillinger may claim to be defending the respect of artist's work, but it feels more like a publicity stunt.

Recalled and burned?! Haha. Yeah right. Definitely pub stunt. But it might also be a negotiation tactic. Start extreme and work down to 'reasonable' hopefully in your favor (which would be more than a work for hire check of about $8500).
*** him dont worry about that rockstar
Sounds more like, "Artist says yea, realizes the cash cow, changes mind."
Hey try to recall the games all you want. I never giving up my copy. I tell R* to come and get it. As in the end. This copy be worth money with a song that is not in it. HA!
I mean digitally they could patch the game removing the song. Really I don't know what the song is as I don't pay that close attention to most of the songs in the game unless it is Johnny Cash. Beyond that I don't know many of the artist and Rap is beyond my knowledge as it is not something I listen to a lot.
Daz has sucked since 2pac died.
OR,they could just release a patch resolving this absolutely terrible tragedy....
If i was him,i would just be happy that he has music in the game.
Are these songs back from Death Row era Daz? as in does Suge own this? if so i would watch yo back homies
Is he serious? There's no way that Rockstar is going to do that.
Oh, that was "music" that they used without his permission?
Didn't know who he was before the game so....maybe Rockstar just pays him more and keep it. I enjoyed his songs and without GTA I'd have no clue who he was.
Money, money, money...
