The lights are on
Racing fans are going to have their pick of games on next-gen consoles next month. In addition to Sony's DriveClub on PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Forza Motorsport 5 on Xbox One, EA is bringing Need for Speed to both new platforms.
Need for Speed: Rivals will arrive for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 22, 2013. For those looking to get the game on current hardware, you can pick it up on November 19 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Our TakeEA is making an interesting decision delaying the next-gen versions by a few days. I have to wonder if sales will suffer as people pick up all of their first-wave games on day one. Will you be saving a spot in your launch budget for Need for Speed: Rivals, or are you making all of your purchases at once?

This game would have never been on my radar except how much praise GI gave it from E3. I have to check it out now. I will wait to pick it up. I don't even like racing games but I hear you have to start a next gen system with one.
Although I'm interested in this game... It is no longer a day one purchase for me. I'm buying all my games up front on the 15th with my PS4. My games of choice are Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, Watch Dogs, Madden 25, COD Ghosts & Battlefield 4... also the free edition of Driveclub from PS+. Plenty of games for awhile.
I'm curious to see what next-gen features make it to the PC version. I'm hoping all of them.
They're only "delaying" the PS4 version, as the Xbox One releases on November 22 as well. I suppose they could release next gen versions on the 19th but why if the systems aren't out yet?
For me this is a wait and see. I will be getting Watchdogs and Shadowfall on launch day. I wasn't that impressed with the E3 presentation of this game. I love Need for Speed titles tho have played every single one except Shift and ProStreet so I will probably get this one down the line.
.......wont buy it, MAYBE rent it......not trying to troll but this game doesnt get my attention.
Very interesting ..
After seeing EA's idea of a connected gameworld in SimCity, this is a guaranteed pass. Especially when games like DriveClub & The Crew seem to be doing the same things that NFS is doing this year (though The Crew also is most likely going to be undone by incredibly dumb, restrictive online BS from a big publisher). Count me amongst the gamers who are not fans of the last few NFS titles as well, and you have another gamer who's definitely going to be skipping this thing. On any platform, next gen consoles or current.
Aww I was hoping this would come out on November 15th, when i picked up my PS4? I will pick this up on the 22nd. I wondering why they picked the 22nd? I guess they wanted to make at least one Next Generation console laucnh? (Xbox One) Oh well, this should be a fun racing game.
This will be skipping my PS3 since EA skipped the WiiU.
After most wanted. I wnon't buy another NFS game unless they do something like underground or even the old most wanted.
Here's the thing... They had a release date which was fair for any next gen console owner since it fell 4 days after PS4 and 4 days before XB1. NOW they want to play favorites and kick it back to the XB1 release date. No problem, I can just cancel this preorder since it is just a reboot of Most Wanted anyway.
Well, it is definitely a game I want to have, but I will not either get it on current gen or get it at launch.
I will start, with my limited budget for games, buying other games first.
I hope this will be better than Hot Pursuit.
You didn't even mention the All Drive mode. Single-player and multiplayer are no longer isolated game modes. There are no lobbies, no waiting; everything is seamless. You and your friends can all share the same game, same race and same chase. this mode sounds awesome. I'm gona get this game and Ryse: son of rome.
