The lights are on
Both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 offer paid subscription services, and that trend is going to continue with the next generation. PlayStation 4 will require PlayStation Plus for multiplayer gaming, and Xbox One will require a Gold subscription to access multiplayer and streaming capabilities. Recent years have seen the inclusion of free games for subscribers (including the recently-announced Shadow of the Colossus offering for PS+), which have been a nice bonus for those looking to extend their backlog. If you subscribe to one or both of these console services, do you feel like you're getting your money's worth?
Perhaps you're satisfied with a yearly fee in exchange for Instant Game Collection or Games With Gold. Maybe you're upset about Sony and Microsoft locking online gaming behind a paywall. We'd like to hear what you think, so sound off in the comments below.

I love my Playstation Plus sub! you can get it for some great deals around the year, around christman they usally do a 30% price drop or something, and just last month they gave those who bought 1year, 3 extra months.
And as a owner of both a PsVita and a Ps3, and soon to be Ps4, the small price it cost to be in the Plus club is amazing, great games, and relative new games aswell! Never looked back since i got it afew years back!
PS+ is freakin' amazing, best $50 you could spend! considering you save like over $1000 a year or so, it's really worth it, how oculd it not?
Yeah, I'm ok with the yearly subscription. I know folks don't like the "pay to play" business structure, but I know my money is going towards system updates, new content, and to fund some developer's drug habits!
I've had PlayStation Plus for over a year now and I have never been happier with my PS3. All those free games every month is a HUGE thing for someone like me who can't afford to buy expensive games all the time. Totally worth the price of admission.
Its annoying when one month something costs 5 dollars and then the next month its free but other than that they only give you your moneys worth during the summer.
Well I dont use any at the moment, but will be getting PS+ once I get my PS4 and from what I look at, it seems like a pretty good deal to me. Thats just my take though.
