The lights are on
When 2K Games released BioShock 2 on PC, it carried with it the despised (and now deceased) Games for Windows Live. Now that Games for Windows Live is no more, those that owned a Games for Windows Live version can redeem their codes on Steam for free with an added bonus.
Existing owners get the Minerva's Den DLC free when moving over to Steam as a way to smooth the transition caused by the sunset of Games for Windows Live. The Steam version also comes with controller and achievement support, along with Big Picture mode.
For those that haven't yet played BioShock 2, it's only $9.99 through October 7. It's also available in a bundle with the original BioShock for a total of $19.99. The Minerva's Den DLC is available for purchase at a discounted rate of $4.99.
If you haven't played the original BioShock titles, now's a great time to add them to your collection.
Our TakePlaying through BioShock Infinite's Burial at Sea DLC makes me nostalgic for the original adventures in Rapture. If you've not played these on the PC, picking up both for $19.99 is hard to turn down.

Wait a month or two and they'll be $4.99 each. On sale all the time. Just a little FYI
I enjoyed Bioshock 2, it was a good follow-up especially being that 2k Marin stepped into some big shoes.
UUUGH thats such a good deal...
I've never played Bioshock 2, but alas, us Mac users are left out in the sun to burn. *sigh* I'm at least grateful that Infinite got a Mac release.
Bioshock 2 was awesome, The little sisters were awesome in that games
Bioshock 2 was an awesome game - it may have the most enjoyable combat of the three.
Definitely scooping this up. I have been waiting to get Bioshock 1 & 2 on pc for a long time. And with controller support? Christmas has come early this year.
I already had both Bioshock 1 & 2 for Steam but it's nice to know I'll no longer have to worry about GFWL. According to the Steam store page for Bioshock 2 it says I still have to buy Minerva's Den but I also have yet to install and play it on my computer (I played both it and Minerva's Den on 360 back in the day) so maybe once I actually install it and boot it up Minerva's Den will be waiting for me.
I always kept forgetting to buy Minerva's Den DLC on GFWL. Now that I have it, I can totally play it. Hopefully soon. :)
Is there a page with directions on how to convert your GFWL copy into Steam?
