The lights are on
We posted our review for the upcoming X & Y today, and even though Pokémon have finally, officially moved into the third dimension, they're not quite as impressive as this art.
Artist RJ Palmer has been creating these very impressive realistic Pokémon for quite some time. You can see more of his collection on his blog, as well as his DeviantArt page. He's also collected most of his work into a book which you can buy here, and place on a coffee table.
We reached out to Palmer to find out what sort of plans he has in store for the new Pokémon of X & Y, and he says he has something in the works. He promises that we will see a Tyrantrum from him in the future, and he wants to draw some of the Mega Evolutions. Palmer has a Feraligatr piece of art that he says should be done in the next few days, and then he will move on to Meganium, and the Legendary bird trio, Articuno, Zapdos, and Molters. We will make sure to link to Palmer's new art when he posts it online.

I've always been a fan of the art that comes from the heavy followers. They're constantly badass.
haha venasaur its a bearded dragon lol how cool xD
The guys at deviant art are really talented. Their art has had the privilege of being my background image many times.
Maybe one day Nintendo will do a game something close to this. Would be very interesting!
only if pokemon was like that always, i might still be a fan but i grew out of that stage at like 13
Fifty dollars for the artbook :/ These will make great wallpapers!
Looks so awesome, I know it's strange to say this considering I don' t mind anime art and Pokemon cuteness, but this makes me really want to see a 3D Pokemon game with a realistic art style lol.
I've never been this proud to be a Bulbasaur fan
Bulbasaur looks like a beared dragon! so awesome!
When they come out with the Wii UUUUUUUUUUUUUU this is (hopefully) what Pokémon will look like :-P
Reminds me of dinosaurs.
