Original Story: We're in the throes of the new soccer season, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 has just come out. The good people at Konami want to share the wealth by giving away free downloads of the game for PS3.

I played a lot of PES 2012 and loved it. The game is much slower paced than FIFA. Goals are much harder to come by and are much more exciting when score. I have not played the series for a couple years due to my buddies buying FIFA and wanting to play pro clubs. I am considering a change back to PES this year.
Growing up I was a faithful fan to PES (winning eleven). I loved the mode where you could make custom players in winning eleven 9. My whole team had dog heads lol. Two years ago I switched to FIFA because that's all my friends play. I would love a chance to try my hand at the new PES and get back into the series.
Soccer (or football, if you live in apparently any other country besides the United States) is really the only genre of sports games I play. I like PES; it's always been fun to play and I enjoy the series a little more than I do FIFA. The last title I played was PES 2012 for the 3DS, and I'm strapped for cash but would like to get back into the series!
As a newcomer to the sport I dont have any point of reference to fall back on. I would love to be able to see why all the reviews say the PES is the definitive soccer game. Ive been with Konomi since the days of the NES and know the series is in good hands. Either way good luck with the new edition!
Always been dedicated to FIFA, but I would like to give PES a try . I feel like FIFA has gotten stale, while I've heard there have been a lot of improvements to PES including a new graphics engine.
PES is the only football game where a goal actually gets you off your chair and do a fist pump. Been a fan since ISS 64. Reminiscing on all the goals I scored with "Fuerte" from Argentina and "Carboni" from Italy :). You'll should bring back Scenario mode for next gen. Loved it back in the day.
I have been closely looking at FIFA 14 vs. PES. I was going to get FIFA for the PS4, but I would love to try this one out! I have steadily been hearing better things about the PES series so here's to hoping!
Iam a FIFA fan but i have played the PES demo on PS3 and compared to previous years there is an improvement. Also all my friends play PES so it would be nice to have it also.
Used to play PES a little before FIFA has really hit it's stride lately. Maybe it's time to check back in on it.
I've always just played the demos and really enjoyed them. It would be fun to actually see how the full game is.
I've always been on the FIFA bandwagon and have never been able to justify another $60 for another soccer game. This year I didn't buy FIFA because I figured I'd rather pick up the game on PS4, so in this downtime I'd love to see what PES is all about!
PES looks really good this year with the new system and all. I feel that the licensing with some teams needs to increase and the menu layout should be more modernized but besides that I feel that the game looks really good and way more realistic in speed and graphics than the competition.
I have played a few of the fifa games over this generation but have never tried a PES game, seems like they are providing EA with some increasing competition which can only lead to better products on both sides and benefit gamers.
good luck everyone...i have been playing the pro evolution series since when i was a little kid from the ps1 era...love it :D the new entry seems a big good change for me judging by the demo i played in the ps3.seems like they are heading in the right direction this time...
loved playing the PES games when they were winning eleven, but it didn't transition well to the current gen. But after seeing how some reviews, would love to give it a go again. And on a side note, my avatar is an MUFC emblem lol.
I may be in the minority but I really enjoy some sort of roleplay in sports games career mode. Some subtle touches that makes the experience feel more real and more connected to your manager or player.
This is what PES does better than FIFA, but I would still like to see more improvement in that area.
I feel that this is great for competion between 2 franchises, to help bring about great games. And we as the consumers get to experience these superb games. PS4 day 1 I'm out
I have always played Konami’s football games since the arcades to International Superstar Soccer on Playstation and now Pro Evolution Soccer. It’s in my blood.
I've always thought PES was more realistic and technical than FIFA. It plays better and I like how they include euro teams and the graphics are always nice and sharp
I played PES before but then switched to FIFA since my friends were playing it. I can't wait to try this new PES and I may just change back to playing only this series.
