Pokémon X And Y 3DS XL Consoles In Stores Now, Supplies Limited

by Mike Futter on Sep 27, 2013 at 02:46 AM

Nintendo has announced the availability of limited edition Pokémon X and Y themed 3DS XL hardware. If you want one of these red or blue handhelds, you'd best move quickly.

The red or blue consoles feature the likenesses of legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal. Pokémon X and Y will be released on October 12, 2013 (complete with the original three starters: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle).

Unlike previous special edition consoles, these two are not bundled with the game. You'll be waiting to pick those up for another couple of weeks, just like everyone else. The limited edition Pokémon X and Y 3DS XL systems will run you $199.99. For more on Pokémon X and Y, check out our preview from PAX 2013.

Our Take
These are sure to become collector's items. If you've been waiting to pick up a 3DS XL (one of my favorite systems), now isn't a bad time. Even if you have no interest in Pokémon, these limited edition handhelds aren't a bad investment.
