The lights are on
The week of Valve announcements is underway. Yesterday we reported on and asked you how you feel about the SteamOS news. We're confident that a hardware reveal is coming either tomorrow or later this week. We are curious about how much you would be willing to pay to put a preconfigured or home-built SteamBox in your living room.
Let's recap the relevant details. SteamOS is built on Linux, and therefore will play those titles in the Steam library that are compatible with that platform. It will also stream titles over a home network from a PC or Mac running Steam.
You can dual boot your existing hardware, but for the sake of argument, let's assume that the Steambox in question is designed and optimized for use with SteamOS. Do you already own a gaming machine (PC or Mac)? Would you purchase a SteamBox for your living room? If so, how much would you spend?
