The lights are on
We've known that a World of Warcraft movie is in development, but today brings news about some of the actors that might be stepping into Azeroth. New rumors suggest that Colin Farrell (Minority Report, The Recruit) and Paula Patton (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Swing Vote) have been offered leads.
Ain't It Cool News also reports a number of actors up for other roles, including Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood) and Anton Yelchin (Star Trek). You can see that list at AICN. The script is being penned by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond), and Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) is on board to direct.

Our TakeGiven that we know absolutely nothing about Leavitt's script, it's impossible to know how likely these casting rumors are. We don't know what character types any of the named actors might be filling, or even if the script connects to any of the established lore.
What we do know is that both the named actors are credible and might lend substance to the endeavor. Video game movies are tricky, and the more talent that can be put behind this one, the better.

I like COlin Ferrel but is doing a WoW movie an end to a career?
There is just so much to WOW, too much actually. There will be things left out that are going to drive fans crazy, or they are going to go off and make a movie that has little to do with the game...
Well clearly a Sci-Fi...err I mean Sy-Fy movie to be aired on TV.
