The lights are on
Sometimes things are just meant to be. I had no idea a Tales of store existed, but when I visited Akihabara, I stumbled upon it.
The Tales series has been with us for a long time. Celebrating its 15 anniversary this year, it's constantly entertained me with its fun action battle system and quirky characters that grow together as a group. One of the greatest things about being in Japan is seeing love for the franchise around every corner. Since I got here, I've vowed to find myself Tales merchandise since you can't exactly walk into a store in the states and find any. So you can imagine my surprise when the Tales of store appeared before my eyes, completely unplanned.
My first thought was to grab my camera and share the experience with you. As I looked around, I knew I was in trouble. This was definitely going to be the shop I would spend the most money in during my trip. And I was right.
Look around at the pictures below and let me know which items you would have taken home with you.

Between stuffed animals and keychains the options are endless.
Repede was sleeping on the job, so I got to take all these pictures.
This confirms it. All the characters really do get along. After all, they posed for this photo.
Better not let your HP and TP dip too low. Restore it with some tasty treats.
Let's keep that friendship going. Sharing is caring.
You can look at Luke and Leon, but no touching!
Otherwise, Repede wakes up, and he means business. Yikes!
For those who prefer the chibi variety...
Just some of the selection on display...I confess; I bought the Milla figure on the right.
Tales of Xillia 2 wants to be a part of your phone.
More figures because that's what Japan is all about, and I want to show off my Milla figure once again.
Tales of Xillia 2 is still all the rage right now. I can't wait until it releases here next year.
The variety of different items for various games are still pretty good. I kid you not, I even found Tales of Legendia trading cards.
Didn't believe me? The Legendia cards are on the far right. Sigh, Tales of Rebirth. Salt in the localization wound!
I'm not going to sit here and pretend that Yuri from Vesperia isn't a fan favorite.

Everyday you're there are you just losing your mind as the Staff's foremost expert/fan of JRPGs. This store looks awesome.
Awesome store. Thanks for sharing Kim.
They have a plushie of my dog?
I NEED that plush Repede. I NEED IT!!
Japan sure know how to make all anime and tales of fans go crazy for these merchandises. Too bad America can't top Japan with these stores reason why I don't shop much cause there's nothing interesting here : /
Were those some apple gummies in that tub? Tales has definitely won me over for game series that makes me want to eat my item inventory in real life!
Rapede! *hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng*
Aw! I would love to go to this store and get stressed about all the things I want but can only get so little
ha, I bet Kim is in heaven at that place, glad to see them having fun out there. I would have bought Teepo, and probably that Milla figurine.
All the quality figures and anime/JRPG cookie make me drooling.
great shop love anime pretty.
That's an awesome store! I would get a figurine!
I don't really care for the Tales series, but man I really want that plush Repede!
I don't even like Teepo and I probably would have bought one with no remorse. This would be a nice store to browse through.
Looks pretty cool. I may have to swing by and check it out some day.
This just makes me more upset that my plans to visit Japan this month fell apart. I would've loved to seen the crazy stores like this. :(
