Double Fine's Broken Age: Part One Enters Internal Alpha

by Kyle Hilliard on Sep 19, 2013 at 01:03 PM

Despite delays and extensions, Double Fine's Kickstarted Broken Age soldiers on. The first part of the game is now completely playable from beginning to end internally at Double Fine.

It doesn't mean the game is ready for backer and consumer consumption yet, but it's a good sign that the game is on the right track. In the Kickstarter update announcing Broken Age's milestone, Double Fine thanked everyone for their support saying, "thanks for sticking with us! We're all really excited about how the game is turning out, and we think you're going to love the results."

Broken Age was recently hit with a major delay where the game was split into two separate parts. For more on Broken Age, head here to read our hands-on preview.

Double Fine and 2-Player Productions, the team behind the documentary covering the development of Broken Age, released the first episode for free online, which you can check out below.

Our Take
Broken Age's delays and setbacks have been disappointing, but it has done little to diminish my interest in the game. I'm excited to hear that it seems to be coming together. You know what they say – and of course by, "they," I mean Shigeru Miyamoto: “A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.”
