The lights are on
If you're planning on getting an Xbox One, but want to start your Call of Duty multiplayer experience when the game launches on Xbox 360, Activision has a plan to make that possible. There are two different ways to access the $10 upgrade program, but both require that you shrug off the physical coil.
In order to take advantage of this offer, you can purchase a $69.99 dual-license digital version at retailers. This will include licenses for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions, and they'll be connected by your gamertag.
Alternatively, you can purchase the digital Xbox 360 version alone and upgrade for $10 through March 31, 2014. Both options allow you to carry your unlocks, stats, and profile from one version and back again.
The Call of Duty: Ghosts season pass will also carry over across versions. There is no cost for the upgrade, but a purchase must be made by March 31, 2014. The season pass will include four map packs, the Team Leader customization pack. The price for this is $49.99.
Activision and Sony previously announced a similar deal for the PlayStation platforms.

Our TakeEight years seems like a long time ago, but I remember being faced with the proposition of buying titles on multiple platforms. I bit on Burnout: Revenge (and regret nothing), but it's nice to know that during this console transition, the choices are going to be much easier.
$10 for next-generation versions that also allow you to port your stats and profiles? That's a steal. We've come a long way in eight years, and this kind of offer is just one of the perqs.

I always buy COD no matter how much I get mad at it when I play it lol. However I don't know what I'm actually going to do right now...
I figured they were going to charge a lot more to do that. But $10 isn't too bad instead of buying the game again on the One.
So 64 bucks plus 50 bucks is 114 dollars plus a 10 dollar upgrade fee, 124 bucks for COD no thank you! Because seriously you ca't really get the most out of COD without spending atleast 114 bucks which is stupid...
The upgrade program is a nice "PERK" for those buying next gen consoles. (See what I did there!) ha ha
While a decent idea, I think I'll pass thanks.

I've been waiting to hear more from EA on Madden 25, I hope they're doing something very similar.
Ok, this looks like a sweet deal, except for the sharing gamers. This will lock into your gamertag, like downloaded games, and you will not be able to share with others on different consoles. I will stick with my original disc that I can take with me to play with my friends at their house, which is common for those who get the game right away and play with people who have time or money constraints. I see the positive, but do not like the idea of being locked to one gamertag!
Pretty cool. Not a bad way to handle this at all!
Can't You also return a physical copy for $50 off of the Xbox One version?
